I have known and worked with Gabe since 2014, first we hired him to remodel our old house and then to build our dream house in NW Portland. Prior to hiring Gabe, I had interviewed number of leading architects in town but ultimately, we hired Gabe to design a modern yet very functional home for us. Gabe always listened patiently to our every requirement and provided number of viable options for us to consider. We were impressed by his creativity, design and attention to details. He helped us with all major project milestones starting with permits, civil engineering, contractor selection and actual construction. Basically, he was our confidant throughout the project and we did not make any major decision without his input. We are truly thankful to Gabe and his team for their contribution in turning our dream in to reality. We appreciate his creativity, customer orientation and professional work ethics throughout our engagement with him. I have already recommended Gabe to our friends and will not hesitate to use his service again.

I have worked with Gabe from Steelhead on two very successful, yet completely different projects over the last 3 years. The first was a renovation of a mid-century one level with a walkout basement, where we designed a fabulous mid-century modern satisfying all of our needs and requirements. The second was a new build design from a purchased lot above the Columbia River, which had many restrictions, site considerations, and of course, pages of requirements from me. Gabe and his team always look at the entire picture before getting started, offer up many options and thoughtful approaches to challenges and all designs, all the while taking budget and requirements into account. I have very comfortably referred Steelhead Architecture many times, and wouldn't consider anyone else for any future projects.

Gabe has a gift for taking a vision from collaboration, pictures and magazine clippings and then putting it all together to make a very satisfying and beautiful (yet practical) space. We have been very happy with Gabe's work and would hire him again for a future project.

We hired Steelhead to help us remodel our kitchen and bathrooms in our house. Those rooms were all original to the construction of the house in 1998 and looked dated while the rest of the house was very modern and contemporary. Gabe was great to work with as we planned the renovations. He helped us think through updating the rooms to be more contemporary, provided us with great suggestions and delivered extremely detailed plans. All our contractors were extremely happy with the level of detail in the plans. The level of service from Gabe was great. He was very responsive and clearly communicated timelines.
