Nielsen's Remodeling & Construction

We have worked with Neilsen's Painting and Remodeling and in particular Neilsen himself over the last 8 years on several projects in our home. The results have always exceeded our expectations and he has made our home a better place for us to enjoy. We started with a kitchen project, then we did our den and our latest and biggest project involved a complete redo of our living room (and fireplace), adding an approximately 400 sft covered patio (gorgeous results has become the focus of outdoor living) and a remodel including an outdoor grill kitchen in our gazebo. We recently had our entire extended family over for thanksgiving and even with the cold weather in Dallas, we spent most of our evenings in our patio and grilled in our gazebo. The TV and sound system installed by Neilsen outside was a significant value add. The LED lighting was a huge win. His suggestion on extending AC to a room we were using as storage and making some modifications to it added significantly to our use of this space since we were able to move our wine cooler there as well as creating a more efficient storage space. This was an excellent remodel and we are realizing great value from it. My wife calls it our oasis and I agree. Neilsen's particular strengths are a willingness to listen to what we need and an ability to suggest things that we did not realize were options. He is also great at working within a budget and suggesting things that we could do with maximum impact. He is easy to talk to and will be transparent about what adds costs and where we could trim costs with minimal impact on utility and value. I have no hesitation recommending him.

I’ve worked with Nielsen on a number of projects including a complete remodel for a property flip. For our latest project, Nielsen updated our kitchen and living room. For the project, we had the floors retiled, new counters installed, the walls and cabinets repainted, the ceiling popcorn scraped, new lighting installed, and new appliances installed. The experience was perfect as always. We worked with Nielsen’s project manager and decorator to get the design right. We agreed on a budget and put a schedule in place. Surprisingly, the project came in a week under time. We are thrilled with the results. I highly recommend Nielsen and look forward to working with him and his team again in the future.

We used Nielsen's Painting and Remodeling for a kitchen update with new cabinet doors, countertops, painting and lighting - and for interior painting and exterior painting. All the work was done beautifully, professionally and was very willing to work with us on all our details. Nielsen put in hardwood floors throughout my living areas, painted walls and trim and put in a new french door. The work is beautiful. Nielsen and his crew are so conscientious and always accessible. My French door was delivered by the vendor and left outside by my garage door on a Sunday afternoon. I called Nielsen and he arrived with help within the hour to uncrate and move the door into my garage. This crew is so clean, always on time and attentive to every little detail Supreme workmanship?

I have a two story house that is 17 years old with original exterior paint. Nielsen came out and surveyed the house and sent a very detailed professional quote. Based on their good reviews, the professionalism of Nielson and Ana, and competitiveness of the quote, I decided to go with them. The painters were Juan and Luis. I work from home so I could see the work as performed. As listed in the quote, they covered all bushes and furniture, then pressure washed the entire exterior. They caulked all the windows, doors, and joints on both stories, including the three porch areas. They replaced two sections of warped wood on the garage door frame. They siliconed the brick expansion joints. Then they painted one section at a time, taping and covering outside the paint surfaces. They also painted the metal flashing that looked terrible. The paint job was smooth with no running or blotches. They hand brushed where needed. Juan and Luis did a great job and smiled broadly when I told them so, indicating they take pride in their work.

I hired Nielson 6-7 years ago to paint my chimney he painted it and replace a couple of rotten boards. Other painters were going to paint right over the bad wood. I was impressed by the work this man did. This past year I had him paint the entire exterior of my house. The work was done on time and to my satisfaction. When I am able, I will ask him to paint the interior of my house as well as some remodeling work. I highly recommend Nielson Painting and Remodeling.

I had Nielsen's Painting & Remodeling repair/re-stain 3 exterior solid wood doors. The craftsmanship was very superior compared to previous companies. The doors were stripped to bare wood stained and sealed with the result looking like new doors. The team showed up when expected and were very professional and thorough. The work was done on schedule and within budget. Based on my experience I am now a Nielsen's customer and will always be a Nielsen's customer.

Nielsen's team remodeled our kitchen. The remodel included new pendant lighting, floor tile, back splash, ceiling popcorn removal, & painting the cabinets, walls & ceiling. They also helped install some shower & sink fixtures and installed additional can lights in the kitchen & master closet. Nielsen was very helpful with his suggestions for colors & materials and directed us to a great tile shop to further assist with our selections. Nielsen's team was very professional & friendly while they were in our home, and after the work was completed they were great with finishing up the details. We look forward to working with them again in the future!

They did a great job, painting, removal of paneling and wainscoting, texturing, hanging interior doors. Very professional. They really closed off the part of the house work was to be done with so the rest of the house would be clean.

We are so pleased with the end result and the process. The work they did was impressive. Very detailed. They did a great job keeping our house clean while they worked. Punctual and reliable. They painted our entire home, placed hardwoods in family room that matched the rest of our house, built a large built-in entertainment center, added wainscoting and door casings. We are so happy with end result and we will use them again in the future

This is the second time I have used Nielson. He is the utmost professional. His crew is punctual and impeccable with cleanup. They go out of their way to take care of their client. Nielson personally checks on the progress throughout the project and then checks back after completed to make sure you are 100% satisfied. This time they replaced all my siding, put in new window trim and painted the outside of my house. I have recommended Nielson to several of my friends and they all are pleased with his work. I will definitely call Nielson again!

For our kitchen remodel we interviewed many different painters and remodeling companies before hiring Nielsen. His bid was on the high side but not the most expensive we'd been quoted. We chose Nielsen because he seemed very honest, professional, flexible and easy going. It turned out we were right. He was very easy to work with and not pushy at all. We changed our minds about details and added additional tasks several times during the project and it was never a problem. Our changes added at least a week to their schedule, but no complaints. He and his team are very professional. They always arrived on schedule, worked hard all day and cleaned up before leaving. They removed a drop down ceiling (soffit), new tile floor, granite countertops, tile backsplash and reworked our buffet and pantry. We did not replace the original 42 year old cabinets but they repaired blemishes added crown molding and painted them inside and out with high quality oil based paint that should last many years. They had to reroute some of the electrical and plumbing but this was not an issue. Nielsen has a magical book that helps make decisions and provides ideas. It's actually photos of past jobs showing off beautiful work and was very helpful. Nielsen was also very helpful with ideas and suggestions that benefited us not him. He's basically a general contractor that handles all sorts of jobs large/small and indoors or out. We highly recommend Nielsen's Painting and Remodeling and plan to call him for more projects next year.
