Wildflower Landscape Design at K&D Landscaping

Collaborating with Liz Ryan in a total makeover of our front yard was an absolute pleasure! She's a great listener and was able to take my 'thoughts & wants' and create an amazing space! Her coastal design for the landscape & hardscape was exactly what I was looking for....her attention to detail was spot on! She also provided us with the names of three reputable landscape contractors in the area. My husband and I got several estimates for the project and then we were able to select the one that best suited OUR needs. And now two years after completion...our neighbors are STILL complementing us on our beautifully landscaped yard!!

I like to consider myself a gardener, but when it came time for our home to have an exterior makeover, I had no idea where to begin. Liz came to our house took copious notes on our ideas, concerns, and our wish list. The scope of our job was big; a new driveway, new deck, and new patio. We ask for easy to maintain, water wise landscaping and a look that would blend well with our craftsmen bungalow. She recommended several contractors for the job, and once we landed on one, she worked with them on any changes and design details. Liz Ryan designed a beautiful and functional space for our hot tub, with outdoor shower, flagstone patio and surrounding beds with many edible plants. We will be using recovered water from the shower to irrigate the area, as well as our adjacent vegetable garden beds next Summer. Liz was delightful to work with. She listened to what we wanted and considered what we needed for erosion control, privacy, and beauty, as well as low-maintenance for a hillside that is tricky to get to. We've finally planted and irrigated, and I can't wait till spring to upload pictures of the sweet bay (privacy), crape myrtles (beauty), coast rosemary and mat rush (erosion control), and lots more for color and to help obscure the retaining wall. Liz did a complete landscape design for our front and back yards, including hardscape, raised planting beds, trees, hedges and plants. She listening to our preferences and then translated them into a beautiful design. She is very knowledgeable about plants and had good ideas for us. She also recommended several contractors, including Living Well Landscape. We were very happy with her recommendation. They, too, have done an excellent job for us. We contacted with Liz Ryan to provide the landscape design for our recently purchased property in Scotts Valley. Our project consisted of a full acre of landscaping, including hardscape, Greenscape, terracing, French drains, and the planting and drip irrigation of more than 400 plants and trees. Our design was intended to be drought tolerant, low maintenance, and water conscious. We were thrilled with the design that Liz came up with! She was able to accomplish all of our objectives on the first iteration. Only minor tweaking was required to complete the optimization. Her knowledge of plant varieties, and landscaping methods are tremendous. Once the design was complete, she provided the names of several contractors who she felt were well suited to implementing the design. Upon interviewing and selecting the contractor, Liz supported the execution of landscaping throughout the process, beginning to end. She also worked closely with the landscaper to ensure all of the best plants were sourced from reputable sources, and planted properly. Liz was an absolute pleasure to work with, consistently professional and supportive. With her expert design and guidance, we now have a beautiful property that we can enjoy to the fullest. Liz helped us with design and plans for our entire landscaping project in Berkeley (front and back yards and sides of house).
