Lladro Acrobat Over Bar Figurine
Lladro Acrobat Over Bar Figurineby Lladro Porcelain
$1,200
Lladro pays tribute to the modern circus with a series of spectacular sculptures in which equilibrium, poise, elegance and agility have been rendered to perfection in each one of these pieces. The excellent modeling work is truly spectacular and required thorough prior anatomical study. The posture of the bodies, the tension of the musculature and the expression on their faces play a truly important role in making us see and understand the difficulty in performing these exercises. The balancer is executing an exercise on the floor as she keeps a large umbrella spinning with almost imperceptible movements. Worth noting is the decoration of her costume, adorned with gold luster to draw the fine intertwining lines. The circus and its bright coloring was ever present in the decoration of these pieces and various techniques are used : glaze and matte are combined, golden luster applied in some of the details of the artists costumes, as well as Lladros classic palette of colors, though in stronger tones than we are used to seeing in other pieces.
