Black Countertop Support Bracket, T-Bracket, 18"
Black Countertop Support Bracket, T-Bracket, 18"by The Original Granite Bracket$48.95(2)More SizesSponsored
Listing is for one bracket; hardware not included The T-Bracket Hidden Granite Bracket is the bracket which will use the weight of the granite to support your big granite countertop overhang on an island. This Bracket lies across the top of the cabinet, half of the bracket will be inside of the cabinet and the other half will be exposed under the overhang. The vertical angle drops down on the inside back of the cabinets and is used to hold the T- Bracket in place until the granite is put in place. This will give your granite the appearance of floating once installed. The T-Bracket has a 45 degree beveled edge on both the front and the back ends of the brackets for added safety. T-Brackets do not have mounting holes in the top of the bracket itself, the mounting holes are on the vertical tang. Brackets are actually sized in length tip to tip, therefore an 18 inch bracket is 18 inches tip to tip on the horizontal piece, and the vertical piece will be in the center of the horizontal piece. The Hidden Granite Countertop Support T-Bracket is made of 1/2 inch thick by 2 1/2 inch wide American steel on the horizontal pierce. The vertical piece is 1/4 inch X 2-1/2 inch by 4 inch in length. Please Note: The vertical piece [tang] is placed in the center of the horizontal piece. Therefore, if you have a 10 inch bracket the vertical piece [tang] is directly in the center of the bracket, giving you 5 inches on each side of the T-Bracket. Meaning there will be 5 inches inside the cabinet and 5 inches on your overhang. Our Granite Brackets are protected with a premium anti-rust black paint. To Determine Length: Example: 12 inch overhang, minus 3 inch setback from outer edge, equals 9 inches, plus 9 inches for inside cabinet, equals 18" T-Bracket. The vertical piece will be placed in the center. [Note, if the back wall of the cabinet is thicker, you may need to add extra inches for the thickness]. How many brackets will you need? We recommend spacing your brackets 20 inches apart for maximum granite protection; however, you can go up to 22 inches apart. The Hidden T-Brackets dimensions are as follows for horizontal piece: Length: see listing Width: 2 1/2 inches Thickness: 1/2 inch Hole Diameter: 1/4 inch Bracket Features: Virtually invisible, gives your granite countertop the appearance of floating. The L-Bracket metal angle support for countertops gives virtually invisible support to granite, quartz, marble and other natural stone or heavy kitchen countertops. The perfect countertop overhang bracket. Note: This bracket must be used with a knee or pony wall or inside a cabinet reinforced with a 2x6. This support bracket gives additional support to your kitchen countertop especially when you have an overhang on a bar top that is deeper than the standard 12 inches or for a bar top which is very long and will be seating 4 or more people. Horizontal Piece Dimensions: Length: See Listing Width: 2 1/2 inches Thickness: 1/2 inch Countersunk Hole Diameter: 1/4 inch Vertical Piece [Tang] Dimensions: Length.6 inches [do not include this piece in determining what length to use] Width: 2 1/2 inches Thickness: 1/4 inch Hole Diameter: 1/4 inch How to Determine What Length to Use: Bracket is sized in length tip to tip horizontally; therefore a 9 inch bracket is 9 inches tip to tip horizontally. [do no use vertical tang in measurements] When determining lengths stay sway from outer edge 3 inches and do not forget to add in the thickness of the knee/pony wall or the 2X6 inside the cabinet. Example of how to determine the size L Bracket you will need: If you have a knee/pony wall: Let's say you have a 12 inch overhang, plus 4 inch in the knee/pony wall, equals 16 inches, minus 3 inches outer edge, means you would need a 13 inch L-Bracket. We recommend placing an L Bracket on each stud in your knee/pony wall for maximum countertop protection. If using a 2x6: Let's say you have a 12 inch overhang, plus 1 1/2 inches for the 2x6, plus 1/2" {measure your cabinet this is an example} for the thickness of the back wall of your cabinet, minus 3 inches outer edge, means you need an 11 inch L Bracket. We recommend spacing your bracket 20 inches apart when using a 2x6 for maximum granite protection. Bracket Features: Virtually invisible, gives your granite countertop the appearance of floating.
