Adopted from an ingenious 19th century Japanese design, the Step Tansu is not only a beautiful piece of furniture; it also makes a great room divider. The compact version will fit almost anywhere and add style to your home. Expertly constructed with Elmwood by artisans in China, it is identical on both sides. The eight drawers, two doors plus a sliding door compartment provide ample space for storage. The two smaller compartments measure 18"W x 15.5"D x 17"H (each); the large main compartment is 37.5"W x 15"D x 23H". The 4 wide lower drawers each measure 16"W x 14.75"D x 4"H. Hand rubbed walnut finish with black rustic iron matching hardware identical on both sides. Take it apart and rearrange the three pieces yourself. Unit is for storage and display purposes only, not to be use as stairs.
