This extra large, stunning, cookie shaped, cross cut natural / live edge wood slab dining or conference table is a single piece of wood created when 4 separate Parota trees grew together. You can easily see the cross section of each tree in the surface of this table. This slice of nature was cut at or near the base of this tree. We've filled in the voids with resin, giving this enormous wood slab a one of a kind look. This table is so large, you can easily seat 10 people.
With 18 years of experience buying, importing and selling exotic tropical hardwood slabs, we are confident we are providing you with the best your money can buy! Our slabs are sustainably harvested in Costa Rica, a central American country with some of the strictest forestry laws in the world. Once harvested, each of our wood slabs is expertly kiln dried to approximately 10-12% moisture content, an important step in the process which ensures the table will be free of twists and cracks in the drier climate of north America. Before exporting, all cracks are filled with resin and the wood slabs are sanded, ready for a finish. The finish of this beautiful dining table, conference table, kitchen island counter top or restaurant community table is a hand-applied Minwax® oil based satin urethane, giving the table visual depth and every day durability. Clean the surface with a normal surface cleanser and soft cloth. And, should the top ever need to be refinished, the project is easily accomplished and we'd be happy to help explain the steps to you.
The steel pedestal base is custom made with heavy duty tube steel. We've brushed the steel to give it an industrial look, and clear coated it after the brushing. Each of the 4 legs has an adjustable foot. If you prefer, this base can be painted any color before we ship it, or you can create your own pedestal base and we'll build it for you. Simply send us a message after you've placed the order or contact a Houzz representative to help you contact us.
Table top weighs 280lbs. This slab is 3" thick. Longest measurement (diagonally corner to corner in longest direction) is 81".
