“After interviewing several contractors, we are so glad we hired Steve and his crew to completely rebuild and expand our 1950s kitchen in our 1920s fixer-upper. Steve was incredibly detail oriented, yet flexible and patient in working with and advising us as we designed most of the kitchen and small addition project ourselves. He did everything possible to be respectful of our budget, even as we ran into a few (to be expected in an older home) small surprises. His advice was invaluable, and responsiveness immediate. Moreover, he agreed to work with our plumber with whom we are friends and already felt very comfortable with working on our home. His other subcontractors, including work on tile, plastering, and electrical, were all as pleasant and reliable as Steve himself. Steve was omnipresent; always making sure the job got done right no matter what stage it was in. Steve always made sure to make any touch ups needed after the subcontractors finished their work. Steve and his crew were not only nice to have around, but created a safe and even fun atmosphere while we lived through this major renovation and necessary disruption in our home. With their diligent work, we went from a cramped, awkward, and outdated kitchen, to one we love and doubles as both functional and sorely needed social space that our modest home previously lacked. Steveworks turned our ideas into such a great kitchen that we promptly hired them to completely renovate our dated bathroom. Steve worked with us, our sometimes quirky house, and a very tight budget to give us a dramatically improved space. We highly recommend Steveworks to anyone who is considering hiring a contractor. “Dave is an excellent craftsmen, and intelligent builder. He returns calls on time, texts daily, and his pricing and work contract are very transparent We originally needed a window replaced, but the project morphed into a much larger project because of carpenter ants. He ended up having to replace all the shingling on one side of our house. Dave was very honest and clear on how the project escalated, what new costs were and gave us different options for budget and solutions. He encouraged us to go with a bit higher quality in materials, and we are really thankful we did the job right. It was late January and he and his fellow builder showed up in 10 degree weather for a week. His coworker was a pleasure to chat with every day, With 3 children at home, it’s important to feel comfortable with workers and I fully trust Dave and his Team. He always was meticulous with clean up. My one suggestion would be to understand his payment plan. We gave him a down payment and then wrote fairly substantial checks weekly. I felt like I was not always prepared with money in the bank to cover that week’s installments. I would prefer one deposit down and final payment at end but this was our only issue. His knowledge and expertise were worth it,! We were very pleased with the end result and quality of work and highly recommend him!”
