“I’ve written a couple of reviews in the past for renovations and moving companies, and I’m happy to write this one for VKB. Our experience with VKB for a bathroom remodel was exactly what we had hoped for. We’re extremely pleased with the products, craftsmanship, supervision, communication and cost. We have been through several single-room renovations over the years (baths and kitchens), and VKB has been the easiest to work with. They listened to our needs, responded quickly to any issues, and always arrived on time (I kept a daily diary with hours and work performed). We obtained three quotes for a master bathroom remodel: one was excessively high, another at the high end of our budget, and the last one, VKB, was a bit lower than the middle one. We chose VKB because of their showroom, established reputation, knowledgeable salesperson Al, broad selection of products, and pricing. Hiring a new contractor can feel like a gamble, as you don’t know the team or their level of experience beforehand, so I was initially skeptical about choosing the lowest bid, but VKB exceeded our expectations. Their attention to detail was impressive. Not only did they protect our carpet and hardwood floors with plastic and a roll of Home Depot paper floor covering, but they covered that with a heavy tarp. During the demolition phase, they took good care to keep the dust to a minimum (they tried but dust still got around), and always cleaned up at the end of the day. Since our bathroom vanity was fairly new, we decided to keep it, and the crew covered it up nicely so it was well protected during the entire project. In some cases, it was better for us to supply a few items, like shower fixtures, mirrors, special ceiling lamps and linen closet doors, which they installed. It wasn’t necessary, but we wanted some special items so we acquired them ourselves. As with any construction project, issues cropped up, but each time I reached out to Robert, the construction supervisor who had a calming demeanor, or Will, the project manager, it was resolved shortly after. At the end of the project, there were still a few details to clean up, such as the silicone caulking around the shower glass wasn’t quite right, and the linen closet doors needed adjustment, so they sent someone in a timely manner to fix them. The construction crew, consisting of mostly Jorge with some occasional help, was experienced, responsive, arrived on time, and was respectful and trustworthy. It took 4 weeks from demolition to completion, about a week beyond what Al predicted. What truly impressed us was VKB’s professionalism. There was never any stress or haggling over corrections, pricing, or credits. Every conversation felt open and straightforward, and I never felt like they were cutting corners or attempting to squeeze extra costs out of us. It was clear that VKB wanted to make us happy customers. It doesn’t get much better than that. We highly recommend VKB.”
