We take time to explain every aspect of all requested and purchased materials for the interior and exterior of your custom home. Nehemiah Construction’s best client is one who has imagination. It is our priority to consult with our clients on cost saving material without compromising the integrity of there custom home. Although Modular homes have been available for 20 years, “custom" modular homes are new to the industry. There are many subtle advantages of building modular homes instead of traditional building. A big factor is your location. During the winter months cold weather often bring snow, ice and freezing temperatures. Modular home manufacturers build your custom home in a huge indoor facility over 150,000 sq. ft. where no material can be weathered or damaged due to the outdoor elements. One of the cost value benefits is our ability to add spray foam insulation behind every electrical outlet, switch, and crevice of our framing stud and panels leaving this house 100% energy sealed.

Handyman Masters LLCArchitects, Home RemodelingVerified LicenseTypical Job Cost: 0 -
My Passion for construction started with me early when I was asked by my Dad to build a shed in the overgrown sloped backyard at 13. I didn’t have a driver's license so my mom had to drive me to Hechingers to pick up the supplies needed. My dad was somewhat shocked when he came back a week later and the shed was not only done, but completely level and looked great! Our neighbors started asking if I could do the same for them. I put myself through college and graduate school doing construction projects on the side. It has always been my passion so to get into the business of construction and remodeling was an easy choice. Clients choose me over others, I believe, because they realize after speaking with me I understand every aspect of their job and have looked at all the aspects of their project that affect them and their project. They know I understand what they want for a final product. We are super clean and neat. I also work to make sure our prices are very competitive so they get a great product at a very competitive price. One of the best parts of any project and I think this happens most in a kitchen or kitchen addition remodel where the kitchen is new and remodeled but the space is larger. The looks on their eyes when they see the final product makes it all worth it. The best part is when you ask them if this is what they expected and they say “better than expected”! That is the best conclusion to any of our jobs and it happens all the time. I like to communicate daily with our customers to make sure they understand where we are in the project and make sure they understand what we are doing to get to the next stage of the project. I make sure all questions are answered and any concerns are relayed to the entire team. I have found that constant communication is best and always being available when questions or concerns arise lets a customer know the job is going smooth. We look forward to working with you!

Our goal is to make our clients` lives better by creating quality spaces. We do this collaboratively with the homeowners' goals and budget at the forefront. Contact us today to discuss your potential project. It would be our pleasure to assist you in reaching your goals in improving your home. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WHEN SHOULD I HIRE AN ARCHITECT? The earlier the better — before hiring a builder. Starting with an architect aligns your program, budget, and sustainability goals from day one and prevents costly rework. HOW LONG DOES DESIGN AND PERMITTING TAKE? Design generally takes 3–4 months and permitting 2–3 months. Projects requiring a zoning or Chesapeake Bay Critical Area variance typically add 3–4 months. HOW DO ARCHITECTURAL FEES WORK? We use three structures: percentage-based (common for new construction), fixed fees (for defined scopes), and hourly (for consulting). Your proposal outlines which applies. WHAT IS THE CHESAPEAKE BAY CRITICAL AREA? A Maryland buffer — generally 1,000 feet from tidal waters — protecting Bay water quality. It limits lot coverage, impervious surface, and tree removal. We guide clients through every required county review. DO YOU DESIGN ENERGY-EFFICIENT HOMES? Yes. We are an NCARB-certified firm with LEED-accredited professionals, integrating daylighting, passive design, and responsible materials into every project. DO YOU HANDLE PERMITTING AND CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION? Yes. We submit permits across Maryland and D.C., manage variances and pre-file submissions, and provide Construction Administration — site visits and contractor coordination to ensure the design is built as drawn.

Outstanding Architect - Exceeded All Expectations My husband and I moved back to the Annapolis in 2021 after living in Seattle for five years. We knew this was where we wanted to live and raise our kids, so we would frequently drive around different neighborhoods envisioning what our forever home would look like. During one of these drives through Wardour, we came across a stunning newly completed house with Jonathan Rivera's sign out front. I snapped a picture of that sign, and a year and a half later, when we were considering making an offer on a house that would need extensive renovation, I cold-called Jonathan. Despite not knowing us at all, Jonathan was immediately willing to meet us on site, walk the property with us, and share his expertise—without any commitment from us. Although we didn't end up getting that house, his generosity and professionalism left a lasting impression. Six months later, when we put in a bid on a piece of land in the same neighborhood, our first call was to Jonathan without hesitation. I knew from that very first phone call that there was no need to interview any other architects—the connection was immediate and genuine and his portfolio of work was beyond impressive. Exceptional Value - Out of all the professionals involved in our entire home build, Jonathan provided the most value for our investment. From navigating the challenges related to fitting our home within the critical zone requirements to our (sometimes difficult) demands of what needed to be included inside the house, Jonathan was able to make things work flawlessly. His pricing was more than fair, and the quality of work and attention to detail we received was exceptional. A Pleasure to Work With - From our very first meeting, we knew Jonathan was special. He has an incredibly likable personality and is so easy to get along with. He took the time to genuinely listen to all of our wants and needs while also being refreshingly transparent about what was feasible and what wasn't. His honest, collaborative approach made the entire design process enjoyable rather than stressful. Essential to Our Project's Success - Jonathan wasn't just our architect on paper—he was actively involved throughout the construction phase. He made regular on-site visits and caught multiple errors during the build process that could have been costly mistakes. His dedication to ensuring our house was built exactly to the architectural specifications gave us tremendous peace of mind. He truly went the extra mile to protect our investment and vision. A Home That Speaks for Itself - Every single person who visits our home comments on the thoughtful layout, the incredible natural light exposure throughout the day, and how comfortable and welcoming the space feels. These compliments are a direct reflection of Jonathan's design expertise and his ability to create a home that's not just beautiful but truly livable.
