Stylish. Exciting. Elegant. Timeless. Modern. These aren’t just words to Sulinh. All of her design work embraces an esthetic that gives each of her clients an environment that is unique to their identity. SULA Designs is the culmination of founder and creator Sulinh Lafontaine’s years of experience in the design, fashion, and entertainment world. She has over a decade of experience in both residential and commercial design whose inspirations originated from her haute couture fashion background in Paris at YSL amongst others. With her extensive experience in fashion and textiles as well as a global upbringing and travels, Sulinh effortlessly combines crisp, clean architecture with custom upholstery, antique and vintage furniture, and modern and contemporary art. Her work shows a deep respect for a variety of traditions, viewed through a modern eye. What sets Sulinh apart from other interior designers is that she also does remodels. She combines a knowledge in architectural design as well as construction work. She has personally overseen many projects from start to finish playing the key role of a project manager/general contractor putting into place full construction crew. Her projects include residential and commercial properties stretching from a 400-square foot studio in Manhattan to a 217-room hotel and full restaurant bar in Kauai. Currently Sulinh is wrapping up a 5-bedroom remodel and interior design in Corona del Mar. Next on the horizon for Sulinh is a 2-story historical craftsman home remodel and build-out in Santa Monica. Sulinh has a high-end modern style on an accessible budget and often uses new technology such as 3D and VR to help clients visualize their spaces before making any decisions.

Creating is my passion. I have always had a strong desire to express myself creatively for as long as I can remember, which is what lead me to the design field. I received my Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and my Master of Interior Architecture degree through a collaboration between UCLA Extension and Cal Poly, Pomona. My original focus on Architecture gave me a solid understanding of the design process from conception to completion, and my focus on Interior Design allows me to create spaces that are not just beautiful, but functional and livable as well. My career began working at a high end Architecture and Interior Design firm in Los Angeles. After refining my skills, I decided to open Madison Nicole Design, a full service interior design firm in Santa Barbara. Design should not be compartmentalized. It spills into all areas of life, which is why I decided to not only focus on interiors, but on floral design as well. I want to be part of every decision a client makes while building their dream home, and also be able to contribute as they plan some of the most special days of their lives.

If home is where the heart is than your interior design elements are the veins that pump the life into it. Your home should be a reflection of your interests and passions with functionality worked into design elements so that you never feel like practicality has suffered for the sake of art. From the furniture to the artwork there is always a symbiotic relationship in the way I create a space with you being at the center of it. I work in both traditional design for the greater Los Angeles area as well as the Hudson Valley in NY but can come into your home where ever you are located thru my e-design packages. Known for his reflective, innovative twist on the expected, Los Angeles-based interior designer Tommy Chambers designs a space with nothing short of a magic touch. The delightfully unpredictable runs rampant through his work, imparting sparkling charm and wit while still aligning with each homeowner’s vision. “My inspiration comes from the client,” Tommy says. “Every single project is completely unique and one-of-a-kind; that’s what excites me the most about the design process.” While a Tommy Chambers Interiors room may not have one signature “designer” look, what it does have is good design sense-in spades-not to mention a sophisticatedly eclectic and vibrantly whimsical sensibility. The designer launched his eponymous firm in 2001 after eight years at Chambers and Murray as head of the interiors department and the senior business and operations manager. Putting his architecture degree to good use, he takes a classical approach to the myriad of styles his projects bring him, carefully balancing elements such as proportion and scale with the architectural integrity of the space and the client’s tastes and definitions of personal comfort. His love of architecture is likewise one of the reasons why he specializes in historic restorations, especially Mediterranean, Spanish Revival, Spanish Colonial and contemporary Mid-century homes. No matter how big or small the assignment, Tommy is directly involved in every project to ensure each client receives dedicated and focused attention. Cost effectiveness and maintaining a budget is also an integral part of Tommy’s work, and he is a master of the high-low design approach, seamlessly offering more accessible furnishing and décor options as needed. It’s no wonder then that every single Tommy Chambers Interiors client is a referral. While Tommy and his team primarily work in Southern California, they have projects throughout the United States and abroad, where they blaze their dynamic design trail and give each room a story of its own.
