I didn’t realize that stepping down from top line appliances to Blue Star equates to unreliability and poor customer service. I have experienced multiple problems with the Blue Star double oven (electric) including a defect which causes the second oven to shut down both ovens. This is only one example of problems which were dismissed by Blue Star as already know issues. How can the company sell ovens that are known to be defective?Fortunately, my retail appliance store is replacing the defective oven with another brand. The store already attempted to rectify the problem with a replacement Blue Star but the second oven had more issues than the first oven!!! Fool me once. However, Blue Star has not compensated me for the initial installation cost of their defective oven (custom electrical, customs cabinet etc) OR for my wasted time - approximately 10 service calls. I would not purchase anything from this company.

We were very happy with our Viking gas stove but when we remodeled we did our due diligence for the best gas stove on the market for residential. After a great deal of data research and customer satisfaction reports we choose to go with the Blue Star gas stove. The construction and functional qualities are outstanding. My wife's reaction to her first use of the stove was a resounding "WOW." We made the right choice and have not looked back. Jim Conroy

Two weeks after my BlueStar cooktop was installed, 3 of the 5 burners stopped working. Over the past FOUR months, we have made multiple phone calls (with long wait times and often several transfers, wait times between each) and they have sent out 2 separate repair services for a total of 4 visits. None have been able to fix the cooktop with the "parts" that were sent. The solution is obvious. Replace the entire unit. More phone calls with BlueStar, and more long wait times have resulted in no resolution to date. For FOUR MONTHS I have been working with a cooktop with only half the burners working, and no end in sight. This is unacceptable for a luxury product and a company that seems to pride itself on service and quality American craftmanship. This was a brand new appliance that stopped working two weeks in, and for months I've been trying to get it fixed or replaced. Buyer, BEWARE.

BlueStar is as close to a commercial kitchen set-up, in quality and durability, as you can get. We installed both the 60-inch RNB range (LP) as well as the French door wall oven (electric) and couldn't be happier. Both are absolute workhorses.

We wanted a custom range and hood for our kitchen remodel. I saw a BlueStar custom range at Ferguson Appliance, a large appliance store, and really liked that the bezel and oven door colors were customizable. Wolf was recommended by our designer and builder but we wanted the custom colors so went with BlueStar. Our custom hood manufacturer would use the BlueStar color samples to match the hood to the range. We ordered the BlueStar Professional Plus 48" range with black door and brass bezels. BlueStar then sent a brass sample (an actual bezel) to the hood manufacturer. The hood and range were manufactured and delivered. The color and finish of the brass bezels and handles did not match the brass of the hood- not even close. I've included pictures in which it is clear that the sample I'm holding that BlueStar sent to the hood manufacturer does not match the bezels on the range we received. The hood was manufactured correctly, and the brass matched the sample bezel sent by BlueStar. But the bezels and handles of the new BlueStar range did not match the sample they provided to the hood manufacturer. In fact, the brass did not even match any color sample they had at the appliance store or on the website (shown in 1st and 2nd picture below). Ferguson even sent us new sample bezels of every brass color and finish offered by BlueStar- none of the samples matched the one they sent to the hood manufacturer AND none matched the brass of our new range. I called and emailed BlueStar but my messages were not returned. I finally got my Ferguson Appliance rep involved who was very nice and helpful. After 4 months and several attempts by my appliance rep, BlueStar finally agreed to replace with matching bezels and handles. Two months later a repair tech came out and the replacements. The parts he brought not only did not match, but were handles were too short. The pre drilled holes in the door panels would not match up with shorter handles (shown in 3rd picture). He was unable to fix anything with as BlueStar provided him with the wrong size and color parts. He left and said someone from BlueStar would contact me to reschedule with parts of the right matching color and length. That was 6 months ago and we haven't heard anything from BlueStar. The appliance rep from Fergurson appliance has contacted them twice. Both times they told him BlueStar would contact me. We had been living in the house for just over a month then two weeks ago the knob that controls the small oven broke off when we turned it on (shown in 4th picture below). I contacted my appliance store rep and since it was under warranty a repair request from the appliance store was made via email and we still have no response. BlueStar has absolutely horrible customer service, really no customer service. I have remodeled/built kitchens 3 times and have never come across a product or a company with such poor quality and service. My designer, builder and custom hood fabricator feel the feel the same. They are no longer recommending BlueStar products. Problems with our custom range have been going on for close to a year and we have contacted BlueStar many times. I still I have never heard from a BlueStar rep once - unexcusable! Next time I’ll go with Wolf, the company that was recommended by my designer and builder.

Very poor experience! We purchased a blue star range during our remodel, and has been taking excellent care of it, no heavy or unusual use! However, after a short time the backguard panel discolored (burnt spots). I have exhaustively tried to work with Bluestar Customer Service to remedy this issue with no success. They are very dismissive and shift the blame to the customer. This is not an inexpensive appliance and we expected much more. When it is time to change, we would definitely go with Wolf next time.

Ordered this range from a wholesale dealer
We have had this stove since the end of Sept. First the small oven was so hot we thought the countertop was going to catch on fire. We quit using that side. Next we had a gas leak the fire department discovered. The customer service in Tucson is the WORST. We contacted Arizona Wholesale where we bought it several times, told them the problem and nobody ever returned our calls. We finally found someone to come out weeks later and he was contacted by Blue Star while he was here saying they are sending a new valve....he knew nothing about it. So we have to wait yet another week with NO operating range. To say the least we wish we had never purchased this range. Blue Star obviously new there was a problem because they know about the part (valve) that nobody here knew about or had ordered.

I purchased a 30” stove from this company
We bought our 30” RCS range in October 2018. By September 2019, it had developed multiple gas leaks. It took Bluestar over a month to get service people out after we first requested a warranty repair in October 2019. Despite multiple repair attempts by BS, the gas leaks persisted, and Bluestar was often slow to provide the missing parts. Then in January 2020, the stove had an internal fire on a gas shutoff valve in the control panel (see pic for the scorched valve), terrifying my wife and two kids, and rendering the stove unsafe to use. I had to completely disconnect the stove’s gas and electric to stop the fire. Bluestar then offered to replace the stove, to their credit. But now, one month after the control panel fire, we’re still waiting for a replacement, still without a stove, cooking for a family of four on a hot plate in the middle of winter. And Bluestar is giving us the runaround and failing to return calls and emails. If I could get my money back, I would, so I could end the relationship with this company and find a safer brand.

I bought the BlueStar free standing gas range last June (‘18). Oven has never worked reliably. It gets to set temperature, and if I turn it down or turn it off for a short time, it will not re-ignite. Not for at least an hour. Hard to host dinners or family gatherings without a reliable oven. Not to mention what I paid for it. So far the installer has replaced the thermostat, the igniter and gas valve. Now they are replacing the valve yet again because the problem persists. I would send it back if they would take it. It’s such a shame. Check the warranty before you buy. Understand precisely who will be responsible for what issue and under what circumstances it can be returned if need be. Otherwise you will wind up in customer service purgatory like me. I can’t recommend this product to anyone.

Like many American companies the quality and service has declined over the years. We ordered a gas stove via Big Chill last year. We had it professionally installed only to discover there was a gas leak. Blue Star engaged a local appliance company to fix the problem. After two visits they gave up and the leak continued. Finally, getting no help from Blue Star, we asked our contractor to get involved. It took him several months because Blue Star sent the wrong parts (it was a faulty regulator) but finally the problem was solved. Blue Star then took months to pay the service company that fixed the problem and refused to pay for the contractor's time which was very reasonable considering how much trouble the stove was to fix. We finally paid the contractor ourselves. Cross your fingers you don't get an appliance from Blue Star that needs service because they're less than interested.

Beautiful, well built, high quality appliances. Spacious and functional. Only reason for not rating 5 stars is the customer service representatives are hard to contact and slow to respond.

Bought a stove
First off - I highly recommend this range. Especially if you're looking for what we were - a prosumer range without any computers or whistles, with a low simmer and a large oven capacity. Our 36" six burner nails it. Small learning curve (finding your flame height preferences and noting dial settings). Our biggest point is that when we were searching (exhaustively!) for stoves all we saw were complaints about every stove. No one writes positive reviews anymore. Blue Star had a few but they turned out for us to be unfounded. The oven heats evenly and especially so on convection. I did 4 pizzas simultaneously and they were perfect with one turn. Easy to clean. Only complaint is if you go from cold to Broil you get a little pop of excess gas as it lights. Not so if you set to 350 first then up to broil. Plus it looks great. Thanks.
