“My husband and I worked with Robert Sastro in 2005 to do a complete remodel our home in Alexandria, Virginia. We didn’t have room within the confines of our quarter acre lot to make expansive additions to the square footage of our residence, but working with Robert, we were able to make relatively modest square footage additions that gave our home a custom, high-end look, with large windows and skylights that made all of the rooms feel more open and light-filled. Robert was key to helping me be my own general contractor and place orders for framing materials, iron support beams, windows, cabinetry, marble, granite, bathroom fixtures, kitchen appliances, an additional HVAC system, etc. From his extensive knowledge and experience in design and construction, Robert was also a great resource in helping me identify skilled tradesmen and obtain contracts for the work to be done in each specific area. We are very pleased with the end product of the $500 K+ investment in remodeling our home. It is one of the most beautiful homes in our community, with curb appeal on par with the $2 M+ custom homes that have been built on water-front lots. It clearly reflects the touch of an architect. We could not have achieved such a perfect result without out collaboration with Robert Sastro.”

“We met with Ileana to discuss possible renovation ideas to our 1960s house to open up the space and to re-think our upstairs bathrooms. She designed the project in a way that allowed us to consider the two pieces (upstairs and downstairs) both separately and together. We originally thought we would focus on the upstairs initially, but we were so happy with the redesigned first floor that we ended up deciding to tackle this project first. We contracted with a local company to do the work, and they have had no problems following Ileana's architectural drawings.”
