CTA Design Builders has been a successful design-build company in the Seattle area for over 20 years. We recently closed the construction arm of our firm so we could concentrate on architecture and design. This longtime construction experience informs and inspires our architectural practice with deep practical know-how. We continue to approach each project with the same holistic design-build mindset: we work with you early in the process to set realistic design goals based on your budget, assemble the appropriate team, identify potential constructibility issues, and stay involved during the entire construction process. We are your advocate. We work with a number of proven, outstanding contractors who appreciate our desire for a cooperative relationship and our attention to the challenges of building! We are well aware that the most successful projects are the result of a strong, collaborative team of players. As architects, creating the right design for you is our primary focus. We are skilled at distilling and interpreting your taste, style and goals into a home or remodel that works for your daily life and expresses your soul. We are strong believers in fundamental requirements of what makes a good home: connection to the outdoors, daylight, a good “flow” with spatial layouts that function well but also embody human scale and craft, creating a sense of warmth and heart in your home. Contact us to start a conversation about the possibilities. Let us help you create a home you’ll love!

BEST OF HOUZZ 2013-2019 Internationally recognized and based in Seattle, we design modern, highly crafted, sustainable custom homes as well as furniture, lighting, and hardware! We have completed over 60 residential projects, both new construction and renovations. We believe strongly in "smart sustainable" design and belong to the US Green Building Council. Our projects are all designed to qualify for LEED certification. Our typical scope of services often includes interior design and some custom furnishings, light fixtures or cabinets. Nils Finne has designed over 75 custom furniture and lighting pieces. The custom work contributes to the idea of "Crafted Modernism," which is present in all FINNE projects. A client recently remarked that visitors to his house immediately start touching everything, the wood surfaces, the stone, and the steel. Sometimes we actually see with our hands, we touch a piece and somehow connect to its maker.

D3 Architects is a Seattle based architecture firm with design/build capabilities specializing in beauty on budget. We have designed and built homes in Ravenna, Hawthorne Hills, Wedgewood, Ballard, Fremont, Greenlake, Phinney Ridge, Queen Anne, and Capitol Hill. We design for beauty and economy simultaneously, working creatively with our clients and our trusted team of consultants and builders on new construction and remodels. If you are interested in remodeling your home or making a new one, contact us. OUR APPROACH Economy and beauty work together We find it meaningful to use materials and methods economically to make beautiful buildings. We think the beauty is enhanced when we know it was made simply Our relationships are primary. Everything we do is centered around strong relationships with the people around us. Architecture is art meant to be useful to people. We cultivate shared interests and values with our clients and collaborators because making a house is not a transaction, it is a process that requires trust. We like to have fun and we take our work seriously. Architectural problem solving is a creative act, and creativity is at its best when it’s a fun process. We are motivated by making the finished products intentional, useful, and beautiful. We are also motivated by the process being fun. Daylight We design for daylight, opening our buildings up to let in natural light from all directions. From the south and west, we like the warmer light in more public, social parts of the home. Northern light is great in bedrooms and bathrooms because it provides even, diffuse light. Live the plan The floor plan is the main tool that an architect has to organize a building, and thus, organize the lives of the people in the building. When we are designing the plan we imagine daily life at every scale, from how the siting and orientation impacts daylight and access to making space near the shower for towel hooks. We create mock ups in the office, an important exercise that helps bring our drawings to life. “Living the plan” becomes a chorus in every part of the design, ensuring that life in one of our projects is fully supported. Clarity & Cohesion Coming up with ideas is easy, editing is the hard part. Our job as architects is to assemble our ideas into projects that make sense, look and feel whole, that can be built on time and on budget, and literally become the support structure for your life.
Lauren Crocco A&D is a small architecture firm specializing in custom residential remodels and new homes throughout the west. How do you live or work? What is the most important thing about your site to YOU? These are the primary questions that drive each project. I want to hear the details of how the kitchen should work or where the dog is going to sleep, or which tree needs to stay. Paying attention to these questions and valuing the answers I’m given, I work hand in hand with clients to create spaces that are unique to their needs and lifestyle. Part of my job is being a steward of your time and money and I take this responsibility seriously. Successful projects require open collaboration and trust. My projects lean toward the contemporary and feature clean lines and thoughtful detailing. It is also my strong belief the design should endure by means of durable materials, but also by transcending current style or trends. Past projects have been featured in Lux Magazine, Sunset Magazine, Mountain Living and Remodelista Follow my new work on Instragram at @laurencroccoad
