Crozier Gedney Architects
Bridgeport, CT Architects and Building Designers
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsNovember 21, 2015
Our small real estate company has done over 27 residential projects with Crozier Gedney Architects which include small apartment buildings, home renovations and new construction. In each case, our experience with Rex Gedney and his talented staff has been excellent. Importantly, Rex and his team is patient through the design process which often means accepting a change in directive from us. While responsive to our ideas, Rex doesn't hold back from offering creative suggestions of his own as to both improved use of space and selection of building materials. Equally important, Rex has a good understanding of local building codes and the planning process both of which contribute to a reduced construction period. Rex’s easy going and cooperative manner, which extends to his relationships with other professionals, is also a positive. In the end, the building result we achieve from Crozier Gedney is always one of superior design, true functionality and practical construction.

DE-SPEC Architectural and design firm has been our team to work with to create for our family the dream home in Mexico. We have sat for hours to talk on our vision and lifestyle in collaboration, the team has a level of understanding and can read what our needs are and what our essence is through out all the process. Meticulous and dedicated with innovative organic ideas for a sustainable living. I am so happy we chose Mrs Mansuri the lead architect in the team for building our family home.

Scott did a total remodel of a 1906 house in 2008. He did a brilliant job utilizing existing space, duplicating original molding, doors and windows, and turning our house into a total "Jewel Box". Its the fourth remodel I've done and there was not one argument or disagreement. Scott's attention to detail is superb, the subs he works with are craftsmen, he was on time and really worked to get the best quality for the price we were spending. It was such a fun year doing this project and I would highly recommend him.

Michael Lewis is a consummate designer with years of experience, talent, and organizational ability. We felt supported by Michael and his able firm throughout our project. There was a culture of sensitivity to our needs throughout the firm and skillful handling of issues as they inevitably cropped up. The firm worked with our century old house to bring it into the modern age, by retrofitting an amazing kitchen into limited space and converting an unusable attic space into a dream master bedroom suite with dormers, increasing our living space significantly. We highly recommend this firm!

I consulted with Bill on a planned kitchen-dining area remodel and his advice and suggestions were exactly what I needed to get started. Once I have secured the funds to begin the job, I most definitely will contact him to take on the project. Thank you for all your help!

I have been building high end custom homes in Fairfield and Westchester County for 45+ years and have worked with many of the area's finest architects. While successfully completing multiple projects with Charles Hilton I have had the honor of watching him work. I can say, without a shadow of a doubt that Chuck is as detailed as they come and his drive for perfection is bar none. Chuck stands by his clients and their vision every single step of the way. The precision of a Charles Hilton project begins with thoroughly detailed plans and specifications allowing the team in the field to execute explicitly. From ornate classic to austere contemporary Chuck and his team can implement a wide range of design. One by one each structure this firm creates will remain enduring and peerless.

David was an absolute pleasure to work with on our gut renovation. We couldn't have picked someone better to for the job. He is extremely organized, creative, patient, extraordinarily talented, a team player, works well under pressure, a real master of his craft. His skill set is expansive - he helped me from beginning to end; floorplans to side tables, elevation drawings to lighting and bathroom tile. I'm not sure I could have found someone capable of wearing so many different hats. We are so pleased with the finished product and credit it all to David Moore.

We hired Dan and his company to do a renovation on our 1836 era home. They designed an open kitchen floorplan, added a stone fireplace, a butler's pantry, and office, and reconfigured our back entry and laundry room. They also added another bathroom upstairs and extended our patio outside. I loved that he reused original materials and also sourced beams, etc. that matched the home. (They found an original floor beam that was not in good enough shape to continue support, so they replaced this and he suggested using the good part of this beam as our new mantle. It looks great and I love using an original beam in a prominent place in the new room.) The design gave us an updated and more efficient way to use our old house, while keeping with the traditional look and feel. We also really liked the way Dan charged for his services. Instead of a percentage of the total job - which creates the incentive for the architect to increase the size of the job, Dan charged by the hour of his time. We could call him at any point in the job to come oversee the contractor or consult. And were always happy with his involvement. We felt that he and his firm were a great value.

When my husband and I took on the project of completely renovating an 1846 Greek Revival house in the back country of Greenwich, we ran into difficulties with the architect we had hired. Doug VanderHorn came to our rescue! Many architects might have been unwilling to take on a project that had already started, but Doug, to my everlasting gratitude, not only agreed to work with us, but brought fresh, new, creative and improved ideas to the table. His taste is impeccable and he ended up helping me with all kinds of related issue like bathroom tiles, special effects in moldings and fireplaces and placement of furniture in a difficult room. He is easy to work with and very realistic in his suggestions. I could not recommend him more highly! -Mrs. Russell S. Reynolds, Jr.
