Cindy Boerner Architect
Architects, Architecture Firms, & Building Designers in Hemlock Farms
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsSeptember 23, 2014
“Cindy was our architect for a tear-down/rebuild of our home. My wife and I found Cindy to be very insightful and creative, offerred us lots of options in design, and never expressed concern or hesitation in drafting or constructing some complicated elements we wanted in the home. She brought knowledge, experience and enthusiasm, but most of all comfort to a project which could otherwise have been a stressfull experience. Without question, we would hire Cindy again in the future without the need to go to bid.”

“We worked with J_spy Architecture on a complete gut renovation and combination of our 2 bedroom apartment with the neighboring 1 bedroom unit in Battery Park City Manhattan. Jason and Paola were amazing to work with, and guided us every step of the way. From our initial meetings on reimaging what the space could be, to delivery of the final product, J_spy ensured that no item (no matter how small) was overlooked. They created a clean, modern and most importantly functional apartment which perfectly met the needs of our growing family. While construction can be a stressful undertaking, Jason and Paola made the process smooth and enjoyable with their ongoing construction management and quality control. I would highly recommend J_spy architecture to anyone looking to work with award winning, trustworthy architects who also have great design sense which emphasizes their clients needs every step of the way,”

“I contacted Mr. Gogan about a condo I own that needed rehab. Mr. Gogan responded very quickly and gave me a great deal of advice without asking for a retainer, or fee. He was extremely generous with his time and advice, reaching-out to permitting and other approval authorities on his own (with my OK, of course). I found/find his advice, insight, experience and initiative very valuable and reassuring. I look forward to continuing to work with him through to completion.”

“I am working on an old house remodel and needed a load bearing wall removed to make an open plan kitchen. I was worried that it would be too small a project but Eric responded to the Houzz request for a pro. He listened to my request, gave me a reasonable time line and explained how busy he was but agreed to meet me at the house and talk about my wants. He made some suggestions, explained how he works and what the process would be in order to get drawings to apply for a construction permit to remove the wall. He was professional, friendly and easy to talk to. We are in the process right now, the project is not done but I am so glad Houzz connected me with him.”
Arturo Palombo Architecture

“I am writing this letter today to attempt to summarize my respect, admiration, endorsement and gratitude I have for Arturo Palombo and the members of his team. I feel I owe it to whoever reads this that I provide some background information. In April 2010, my wife Amy and I purchased a home in Chester, NJ. It is a mid 1800’s reproduction that was about 20 years old when we purchased it. When we identified the house, it was on the right street for us and met most of our needs, but clearly needed to be updated. Being married to an Architect and having done a major renovation on our New York City apartment, we felt we were up to the task of making this house our home. We started in the usual fashion, getting recommendations from friends, reading through design magazines and talking to “one stop” kitchen designers and installers. After several months, we were not able to find anyone who would take the time to get to know us a bit and find out what we were really trying to accomplish. Then, one day, I was thumbing through a magazine and I saw a kitchen that I knew my wife would love. It was at a house in Madison, NJ. Needless to say, with the use of the internet, I was able to find out it was designed by Arturo Palombo Architecture, of Morristown, NJ. The rest, as they say is history….. Art, as he likes to be called, came to our house and we learned about his work on historical buildings, and he learned about our small, but growing family. He asked us questions like how are you going to use the space and made gentle suggestions to a design that, while we thought was perfect, but would have never worked. If I had to summarize things, Art saved us from ourselves. We knew we wanted to open the family room, kitchen and dining room up to make the space flow, for example, but tearing down the wall was not the answer. Art suggested creative use of cabinetry to divide the space, without making it feel choppy or detached. We were so impressed with his ideas and vision, we let him design 3 new bathrooms, a Laundry Room, our Mud Room and add things like a Pantry and Cubbies for the kids that we would have never dreamt of. Art connected us with tile designers that were more than just order-takers, but actual contributors to the project. He was able to communicate our sense of style to them which made the whole process more meaningful. This did not end up costing more than a trip to the Home Depot and having to fend for ourselves. Art worked closely with the General Contractor, always looking out for our best interests. As a matter of fact, he greatly exceeded my expectation of the amount of time he would spend during the actual construction phase. To be completely frank, I repeatedly asked him to charge me more for the services he provided, because in good conscience I could not stand by and watch him work for free. He never complained or minded, because it is obvious that he really loves what he does. In the end, we now have a house beyond our wildest dreams, for much less than we would have spent if we did these projects piece by piece. At resale time, which is many, many years away, we will not have to explain the quality and expertise that went into this project. It will be obvious, and we will have one person to thank for that, Art Palombo. Please feel free to call or email if you would ever like to come and see our home or ask any questions of my wife or I. Respectfully, Anthony Cuiffo”
BMG Design/Build LLC

“Boaz Golani, principal of BMG Design/Build designed and project managed an extensive renovation of our 1920s Tudor-revival house, focussing on kitchen and bathroom. The work required fully demolishing the spaces, to the studs, replacing wiring and plumbing, and executing a redesign which was true to the period details of the house, but kicked the whole place up a couple of levels in convenience and elegance. Golani was brilliant in his aesthetic and practical creative problem solving. He sourced and managed fine craftsmen, and was onsite everyday, keeping the job on time and budget. Few clients are as fortunate as we were in achieving all and more than we expected without any pains except the inevitable one of writing checks.”

“Wonderful design, blending traditional, industrial and contemporary concepts. Extraordinary attention to detail and quality. Everything in my home falls into the "wow" category! I am the architect's mother and client. Ours was the first home she designed following her graduation from the University of Pennsylvania School of Architecture. I understand if you cannot use my comments because we are related, but I want to verify her Father and i were also her first paying clients and that she was the sole architect of our home. It is the "Lake Ariel Residence" on your website.”
J. Costantin Architecture, LLC.
Architects, Architecture Firms, & Building Designers in Hemlock Farms
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsOctober 1, 2015
“My wife and I decided to build a house in northern New Jersey some time ago. The house was to be the culmination of many years of planning on our part. We engaged in an exhaustive search for a quality architectural firm, and interviewed several candidates for the job. Our final choice, based on multiple personal recommendations, as well as the obvious expertise that was demonstrated during our meetings, was J. Costantin Architecture, LLC in Morristown, NJ. We are absolutely thrilled that we retained their services. From the beginning, Joe Costantin and his staff were most interested in our vision of the house, and how it would mesh with our habits and lifestyle. In no time at all, they had transformed our ideas into cohesive plans for a beautiful, functional masterpiece. But their involvement did not end there. Throughout the construction process, circumstances occasionally arose that required the firm’s guidance or assistance. Joe and his staff were always there for us, providing skill and experience in any area that was needed. The contractors and subcontractors were also extremely impressed with his attention to detail, and it was obvious that they had a great deal of respect for his input. Joe has such a cheerful and helpful attitude that you always feel comforted throughout the construction phase. He has a way of solving any issues that may arise in a prompt, efficient, and budget-conscious manner. We are so grateful to Joe for making our dream a reality, and for supporting us so enthusiastically during this challenging undertaking. I wholeheartedly recommend him for any job, no matter how simple or complex. He is an amazing architect and a true professional!”
