Hilton Head Island, SC Architects and Building Designers
Lynch Associates Architects is a firm founded on the fundamental principle that the greatest contribution of architecture is to strengthen and vitalize our communities. This belief is reinforced by the ideology that architecture, the natural landscape and a building’s context, both in environment and history, are inextricably connected. Our ability to find inherent order between these complex components enables us to create projects tailored to their unique environments and our provocative clients. Our process is not informed by any one style or predetermined formula, but rather strives to create architecture that is inventive yet timeless. Both principals are personally involved in every project to contribute their individual strengths and expertise. Each project begins with a collaborative approach which engages the client in an integrated design process, from the initial concept through the project’s completion. We continue this approach in a project’s execution as we endeavor to translate concept into the craft of construction. The goal of Lynch Associates Architects is to create exceptional projects which are inherently sustainable.

We are a full service architectural firm headquartered in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. Principal markets of the firm include custom homes, private clubhouses, and commercial offices for a wide variety of applications including fire station, police stations and public facilities of various types. Grady Woods Architects employs state of the art technology, enabling our firm to accommodate the most challenging assignments from office buildings, in addition to meticulously detailed private residences. Conversely we can easily address smaller scale projects, to which we give the same degree of attention to detail and oversight. The firm is noted for innovative design concepts backed by thoroughly produced construction documents. Perhaps the single most distinguishing characteristic of Grady Woods Architects is the fact that our practice is truly principal-led with Mr. Woods assuming hands on responsibility for every commission undertaken. We place the best interests of our clients ahead of virtually all other priorities as we develop our designs. And then carefully administer construction contracts to assist your contractor in delivering the best finished product we can. Integrity underscores our practice and all that we produce. It is for these important reasons that the greatest volume of our work stems from referrals offered by former clients. We would consider it a pleasure and honor to add you to our list of satisfied customers.

Shelley Clark-Glidewell, owner of Clark-Glidewell/Architect, LLC (CGA) is an architectural firm established in Charleston, SC in 1998. CGA specializes in custom one of a kind residential architecture. Our projects range from Kitchen and Master Bath renovations to historic restorations and renovations to new traditional and contemporary construction. Shelley has experience will many different types of homes with each project focusing on the individual client and their needs. As a registered architect, Shelley will provide her experience and foresight to the project, but ultimately it is the homeowner who lives in the house after construction is complete. It is their wishes that must be realized to complete the final product. Shelley has in depth preservation experience, along with Masters of Architecture degree concentrating in Historic Preservation from the University of Michigan. She has worked 27 years with homes in the Historic District and surrounding areas in Charleston, SC and Summerville, SC. She can help you navigate the ever looming city requirements and BAR (Board of Architectural Review). Shelley also has experience in the local ARB (Architectural Review Board) of Kiawah and Seabrook Islands, SC. Preservation is just one love, as Shelley can easily design new construction with a traditional or modern flair. And, sustainability is interwoven throughout her entire 33 year architectural career. Restoring an old home is the ultimate case for sustainability. (Shelley and her husband personally restored 3 homes in Charleston.) Using both old and new technologies together works best for all projects. Energy efficient and the most up to date technology is an important aspect of all designs. Detail, detail, detail is not just a mantra, but a follow through during the construction process. Shelley is currently active in the following: Downtown Charleston First Baptist School and Church. She is serving her 2nd (3 year) term on the FBS Board of Directors. Currently, she is the Owners Representative for the new High School building being constructed on James Island.
