PACT Design Studio, LLC
Architects, Architecture Firms, & Building Designers in Hudson Bend
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsJune 2, 2019
We were fortunate to work with PACT Design when we renovated the interior our 1950’s ranch style home (Woodland Project). Their work is highly professional, consistent, well-thought-out, and executed with such attention to detail and delight. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Working with Pact Design was a pleasure and definitely the best money we spent on our renovation.
CG&S Design-Build

As a contractor I always look forward to working with CG&S Design Build and installing the beautiful landscapes of Architect Gregory Thomas. Over the years I have worked for CG&S I have always been amazed at the quality of design and meticulous attention to detail that I see. They are precise, punctual and always do what is best for the project and the client. I do believe that honesty and the drive to satisfy the client is what has taken them to the top of their game. Many times as a landscaper I am the last person on site. During the project I get to know the clients and spend a lot of time working with them on the details of the landscape, after all the dust has settled, I can say with all honesty that the clients are always happy and in love with their new home or remodel.
Brickmoon Design
Architects, Architecture Firms, & Building Designers in Hudson Bend
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsJanuary 31, 2013
We hired Brickmoon Design to draw plans for our small 1920 bungalow to add a 2nd bath and were hoping to get the washer/dryer into the house (from the garage). They came up with 2 main ideas, took dimensions and we had the survey done, but we have not made a decision on whether to 1) stay within our small 1350 sf footprint, or 2) add onto the house at a substantially higher cost. My husband doesn't want to spend the extra money to add on but I like the addition idea the best, so we have not gone any further. So far, we are out about $5,000 for plans and survey but are stalled. Brickmoon gave us exactly what we asked for, but I still think there has got to be a cost effective way to add an additional 200-300 square feet. Am I dreaming?
Barley|Pfeiffer Architecture
Architects, Architecture Firms, & Building Designers in Hudson Bend
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsFebruary 20, 2013
We came to Barley & Pfeiffer after exploring a lot of options for our old but not-distinctive house. We were impressed with the way Peter Pfeiffer's house, which we saw on a home tour, embodied sustainable building practices without looking funky. We wanted a project that would incorporate the details that we loved from our old house with smart, energy efficient construction and a contemporary layout suitable for our growing family. We found that Barley & Pfeiffer as a firm provided all the skills we needed to come out at the end with the house we wanted. Alan's design skills, Peter's building science knowledge, and Scott's detailed project management work all combined to give us a beautiful house that works really well for our family, has very low maintenance requirements, and consumes dramatically less energy than most other houses, both of a similar size and much smaller. The money we have not spent on heating and cooling this house in the past seven years could well pay for a new car. If you are going to spend the money to substantially renovate an existing home or build a new home, think carefully about what it will cost to maintain what you end up with. "Green building" is a trend now and many builders and architects claim to be "green," but few firms have the depth of expertise and years of dedication to sustainable building that Barley & Pfeiffer can provide. What you spend up front on excellent design and construction management will be recouped many times over in savings on the cost of living and maintenance. We enjoyed working with Barely & Pfeiffer and would choose them again.

This company is great! I did quite a bit of shopping around before deciding to work with them. I am very happy with them. Their drawings and creativity are hugely helpful but they are also technically adept and their customer service is amazing.
Venture Four Architects
Architects, Architecture Firms, & Building Designers in Hudson Bend
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsFebruary 22, 2015
I recently hired Venture Four Architects and Ken Smith on the recommendation of my builder, Ron McGuire. I cannot say enough good things about Ken, his excellent design for our guest house, the firm and their stellar handling of our project from start to finish. They are incredible architects and produced our design plans within weeks (rather than the standard months that most firms take) for a price that my husband and I felt was extremely reasonable. I would recommend Ken Smith and Venture Four Architects to anyone looking for a professional, reliable architect who listens to the client and then helps create the desired design on time and within budget. Five stars!
Paula Ables Interiors
Architects, Architecture Firms, & Building Designers in Hudson Bend
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsJanuary 26, 2013
In 2011, I bought a new construction condo. With the exception of the stove/oven, dishwasher, and water heater, there were no other appliances or furniture. I travel often and never have 4-6 weeks in a row at home - the usual time frame for ordering/receiving furniture. Paula Ables Interiors had done the models for the condo sales office and I love her style. I contacted her, agreed to a budget, and gave her the key. Over a period of a couple of months - this was my time frame - she and her staff did everything from furniture and appliances to hanging (my) art on the walls and painting. At the end, I came home from a long trip and went to my new place for the first time. I was amazed. Everything was in place and looked fantastic. I couldn't be happier and haven't stopped recommending her to my family and friends. The most amazing thing is she actually listens to you, understands you personal style and preferences, and works her magic to produce a wonderful, practical, and liveable home. Over a year later, the design she made for me still works and is easy to maintain as 'showroom' stylish as when she completed it. That is an incredible feat. I continue to use her for any design project I have and am never disappointed. Couldn't be happier!
Hobbs' Ink, LLC
Architects, Architecture Firms, & Building Designers in Hudson Bend
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsJune 17, 2012
We hired Janet to help us design our home on Lake Travis. She was an absolute delight to work with throughout the entire process. I am one of those clients that has a very specific idea of what I want. And Janet is one of those designers that actually listens to what the client has in mind, and then helps them make it even better. She wan't creating her idea of our perfect home, she was helping us create our vision for our home. She was timely and professional, but also has a great sense of humor. Probbably the only negative thing anyone could say about her is that she is a work-a-holic...because she truly loves what she does! Would I hire her again? Absolutely! When a remodeling project recently came up she was the first person that I called. I would recommend her again and again.
Element 5 Architecture
Architects, Architecture Firms, & Building Designers in Hudson Bend
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsMarch 20, 2013
We hired architect Richard Hughes, of Element 5 Architecture, to redesign the living areas of our 1957 home. We wanted more light and greater functionality for the space. From the beginning, Richard was professional, approachable, listened to our needs, and communicated his concept well. He was also open to the ideas that my husband and I had about our project and incorporated many of those into the final design. Work was done in a timely manner, and the final result is a more inviting and useable space that’s great for entertaining and for everyday living.
