“I contacted Anthony Parker through Houzz. From the very first phone call I found Anthony to be totally professional and courteous. He visited our site at Gorokan and discussed the many options available to us. Our project was a dual occupancy with a 2 lot subdivision. Anthony produced his first concept designs and we met several times to discuss alternatives and different options. “Distinct Building Design (DBD) were one of two companies we contacted to design our new home. We selected them on the basis that they fully understood our requirements for a two-storey, 3-bedroom home which left plenty of room for a back garden. They submitted an initial design which, by and large, is the home we ended up with. The other company, for whatever reason, couldn't/wouldn't do this, insisting on 4 bedrooms, with bedrooms on the ground floor and living upstairs. DBD recommended bathroom and kitchen designers as well as suppliers of tiles and all other hardware as the build progressed. They were very pro-active, with the design, during the construction period. The result was a wonderful home that we are extremely pleased with and would be happy to recommend DBD to other prospective users.”

Jay earned the right to do our design work after a basic tender process where we received proposals from 3 designers/draftsman. What struck us immediately was Jay's manner and disposition. “We engaged Your Home Designs to draw up some building plans for a minor renovation at our home in Maryville. Zoe was a pleasure to deal with, always prompt and thorough, making us feel very comfortable and assured throughout the whole process. She had extensive knowledge of the process involved with Development Applications and her knowledge of building processes from her varied work was a huge plus! Zoe added to our original plans and her forward-thinking meant that we even ended up with an extra covered outdoor entertaining area. “We bought a total dump of a terrace which had serious structural and aesthetic issues. We hired Palaestra to help us reconfigure the building to make the most of the spaces, increase the light while keeping the cost low. Palaestra solved the puzzle of using the space as well as possible. We have a truly brilliant new stair configuration. They designed really great rooms and had real sensitivity to our rather serious budget constraints. Unlike a number of the people we hired on the job, Palaestra really got that we couldn't afford the best or most beautiful finishes but always come up with a good looking alternative. Palaestra always deliveredon time and responded to crises.”
