Theodore + Theodore Architects was founded in January of 1988, and has since engaged in a wide range of building types including institutional, commercial and residential projects. All have in common a search for strong and simple solutions to program, site and construction. We collaborate as a team on all commissions in the office. The size of our studio allows us to focus on the careful production of architecture. Our studio, located next to our house in Arrowsic, is readily accessible to the central Maine coast. After being trained at Columbia University and with working experience in internationally recognized offices, we have chosen a rural practice. Working in New England requires both the careful consideration of context, as well as an ability to provide innovative and resourceful solutions to contemporary issues. We consider the buildings we design as part of an infrastructure, incorporating energy efficiency and sound construction techniques which are adaptable for multiple uses, like the row houses, mills, factories, barns and farmhouses found along the Eastern seaboard.

Space is an expensive commodity, and building of any kind impacts our environment. Given these realities, it is Leah's mission as a designer to make spaces that really work for the owner, with the following priorities: Design to the appropriate scale Minimize site impact Maximize passive solar Create efficient use of space Use green materials Incorporate landscape design Stay sensitive to cost This mission translates into a cooperative relationship with clients where the owner leads the design process. Together we combine expertise with expectations to create new spaces that are appreciated for years to come.

In 1992, I started Tony Fallon Architecture with the mission of “composure for your space.” Composure consists of arranging and rearranging things until they are beautiful, practical, and optimal. Often, too little time is taken here which results in something only compiled with a bunch of expensive stuff jumbled about instead of a beautiful space that is composed. Much better to join with an Architect and team up to compose and achieve an enjoyable place. Since the launch of my business with an oceanfront home in Hampton, New Hampshire, the composures I’ve participated with have included: many waterfront homes, the Seacoast Repertory Theater, The Ogunquit Playhouse, Port City Air, CAVA Building and Restaurant in Portsmouth, Studley Home in Rochester, Carriage Hill Assisted Care in Madbury, Mad River Housing in Farmington, Holy Rosary Church Additions, First Congregational Church of Ossipee addition, the Strafford Town Hall, Lighthouse Physical Therapy tenant improvement, Middleton Chiropractic in Dover, Abbott Village Condos in Concord, New Hampshire, Garwoods Kitchen expansion in Wolfeboro, and the Middleton Resort in Middleton, New Hampshire. One project I want to highlight is Starting Home in Ossipee, New Hampshire. This transitional housing proposal for Vets I have done pro bono so far and may do completely so. They are still getting organized and looking for start up capital. If you know of anybody willing to oar in, let me know. New England is a lovely place to design buildings with our rich history and beautiful Architecture in Classical, Georgian, and Colonial rhythms along with the whimsical Shingle Style. Buildings are the clothing we all share and here we are blessed with a rich fabric.

SISR is an acronym for Sustainable, Innovative and Socially Responsive Design. We help residential and commercial clients with their building projects in New Hampshire and Vermont. Whether designing a multistory public building or an addition to a residence, as Architects, our goal is always the same: to achieve a balance between our clients' goals and our shared responsibility to be global stewards. A successful architecture project is a great collaboration between the project owner, the Architect, and the rest of the design team. The result is a beautiful, functional structure that contributes to a strengthened sense of community. At SISR, we believe that everyone deserves a beautiful home and wonderful places to work and play. And while SISR architects love to design new buildings, we also appreciate renovating and re-purposing existing buildings to improve them for the people who live, work and play in them. To us, reusing and improving a building is the simplest way to start a green building project and the ultimate way to recycle: it saves time for the builder, energy for the environment and money for the client. Our job as architects is to create a great building design while guiding our clients through the many different options to make their project as green and sustainable as their lifestyle and budget allow.
