The services provided included providing plans for the renovation of our 1932 Craftsman Home. We had weekly office design meetings and on site meetings to develop plans to suit the home and the neighborhood. SOME Architects had knowledge and resources regarding Craftsman homes and also took into account our specific needs. SOME Architects assisted in the selection of choosing a reputable builder, arranged meetings for us to interview local contractors. Once we selected a contractor, and the plans were completed and approved by the town we kept SOME Architects involved in a supervisory position. SOME Architect also is also a great resource for local businesses necessary for the many design elements and professionals There were many times that we had questions and concerns that the professional expertise if SOME Architects was needed. Our best advice to potential clients would be to keep SOME Architects involved until the project is completed. We love our home and we receive lots of compliments from family, friends, neighbors, and people passing by when we are outside in our garden.

after looking at hundreds of kitchen islands i found one on houzz.com that was completely different than all the generic ones. it was a beautiful craftman cherry wood piece of furniture 82x45 that could be handed down through the family for generations. i contacted him and he made drawings of the table which i had made (we live across the country from each other). subsequently i had many questions, having never done a kitchen remodel before. richard took all my calls, was so helpful with any question i had. we talked about countertops, electrical outlets, hardware, and in the process i realized i had found not only a beautiful blueprint for a magnificent and unique kitchen worktable (we never say "island" around here anymore!) but a very decent man who was a delight to talk to. his work is precise, clean, has a "forever" feel, and his personality matches his skills with design and wood. he's a great guy to work with. i couldn't be happier with the outcome.

The Design Build Pros helped me visualize my new kitchen before it was built. Their budget paperwork allowed me to prepare for all the costs for the project and they helped me find a great remodeler. I will call them to help me with my next project.

I have on several occasions hired architects-designers, but Bob stands out head and shoulders above everyone. Bob listens carefully to your needs, and brings extensive expertise and creativity to his work. Bob created a new walk-in closet for us, and we ended up with a result that exceeded my vision for it — and well within budget.

Very pleased with work from Clawson Architects - Rene, Marvin and their team. Over a number of years they have supported 2 projects at our house - new bathroom, new kitchen and other changes that made the house meet our needs. In the last job, we had ambitious plans, they listened to why we wanted to do it and suggested a smarter, much lower cost approach that gave us exactly what we needed. One innovative idea that no one had suggested in 10 years of our living there until they and it saved me quite a lot of money. Their work is thorough and top notch.

Cathy Knight was the architect for a major renovation and restoration of our 1895 three-story, seven-bedroom, eight-bath home on a two acre in-town site. The project entailed complete rebuilding of the house and several additions and new outbuildings. Infrastructure issues addressed were complete rebuilding of the foundation and successful waterproofing of the basement, rebuilding of chimmneys serving 8 fireplaces, rewiring and replumbing the entire house, replacing and refinishing of floors throughout, rebuilding stairways and securing and replacing failing structural beams. Four new bathrooms were added and 4 bathrooms were renovated. Interior finishes and molding were replaced or restored. New HVAC was installed. Site planning and reconfiguration of the gardens were part of the project. The architect served as project manager for the 18-month construction period. This complex project was magnificently, creatively and efficiently excecuted by the architect and her staff.

I live in Manhattan and have a country house in the Catskills upstate. The house is a contemporary design built in the mid 1970's. The "bones" were great but the aesthetic was completely wrong. We had Kimberly redesign the interior of the entire house - from moving electrical work, plumbing, windows and walls to choosing finishes and fixtures. She is amazing and I have referred her to many friends and clients. Next.... the apartment.

Cindy was our architect for a tear-down/rebuild of our home. My wife and I found Cindy to be very insightful and creative, offerred us lots of options in design, and never expressed concern or hesitation in drafting or constructing some complicated elements we wanted in the home. She brought knowledge, experience and enthusiasm, but most of all comfort to a project which could otherwise have been a stressfull experience. Without question, we would hire Cindy again in the future without the need to go to bid.

Thank you for thoroughly covering shutters the way you do on your site. My wife and I were close to finishing the building of our home in a historic neighborhood in Raleigh, NC. We went through painstaking effort to make our new house fit the neighborhood and had to pull our builder (who was not accustomed to this type of design) along the way. I came across your site looking for examples of how to hang shutters properly so we could convey how they should look. It goes to your point about how most modern builders simply don't understand the importance and functionality of real operable shutters. Thank you again, and keep up the good work.
