Andrea Swan - Swan Architecture
Rosemount, MN Architects and Building Designers
September 13, 2012
Andrea Swan took a dark, dated, depressing space and created a bright, functional modern apartment. She oversaw every aspect of the project and elegantly solved any surprises that emerged during the remodeling. She worked brilliantly with my contractor and was always creative, knowledgeable, respectful, constructive and courteous -- and demanding on behalf of her client.
David Heide Design Studio

David and his team provide an outstanding level of expertise and service. We hired them to help us figure out how to slowly renovate our 100 year old home, and they helped us identify what was important to us, develop a mission statement for how we approach renovations, and then they collaborated with a team of contractors and vendors to put together a comprehensive book describing our home, its current condition, what needs repairs, and how much those repairs would cost. They also included several options for the areas that we are interested in remodeling down the road. We have also used them to pick out and install window treatments that respect the heritage of the house. They are certainly not the cheapest option out there, but they cannot be beat in terms of excellence and expertise!

We have had the pleasure of building & remodeling several of Charlie's designs over the past 10 years. He has shown great versatility in the fact that he understands and excels at every style from contemporary, to historic, all the way to very traditional. His plans are detailed, accurate, and easy to work with. Our clients enjoy working with Charlie, and so do we. We give Charlie & Co. our highest recommendation, and encourage you to give him a call if you're interested in remodeling or building your dream home. - John Kraemer

Jean Rehkamp Larson is talented, patient, articulate, creative, brilliant, practical, systematic and delightful. We live in a 1908 Farmhouse in Minnesota, which we purchased 14 years ago. We made very few improvements during those years. Our 3 kids were in school and then starting college and life was too busy. I knew we eventually would get to updating and remodeling our home so I kept looking for possible architects. Jean wrote the book "Farmhouse Book". I immediately realized that she understood the elements that I wanted to preserve and maintain, yet update to make more livable and comfortable for our expanding family, as kids come home with partners and maybe eventually grandchildren. This project is 2+ years in the works mainly because of unforeseen surprises behind the walls i.e. lead pipes, extension cords in the wall used for electricity, porch walls that were structurally unsound and could not pass inspection as well as the increased expenses because of those surprises that required refinancing and prioritizing. As well as decision making difficulties between 2 very stubborn people. :) We are coming into our final push to finish the kitchen, cabinets and trim work. We have remodeled the upstairs bathroom, we have moved the kitchen back to its original location from its 1970s tacky remodel to incorporate a bathroom on the main floor, Put in a main floor handicap accessible bathroom, wrap around porch, new entryway, sunroom off the kitchen, geothermal heating and cooling.

It's rare to find an architect that immediately grasps your clients' vision, especially when they don't know what they want (or need)...often times, it's a process that takes many meetings. Jim was able to work with my clients and create a completely new, unique and wonderfully artful design that transformed an average home into a showcase that will both functional and beautiful. His attention to detail will be evident in every aspect of the home design.

Peter Eskuche is an exceptional architect and it is a joy to work with his team. We have had the pleasure to partner on several outstanding projects and in every case Peter's extensive architectural skills resulted in an extraordinary home. Peter is an impressive talent -- if you work with Peter Eskuche you are most definitely in good hands! Jennifer Cramer-Miller L. Cramer Builders + Remodelers

Jim Kuiken, Jim Kuiken Design, is a talented home designer who has won multi-awards from his industry peers -- this is the highest praise a designer can receive. Jim's work is noted for its roots in nature, use of light, innovative use of materials and an uncanny facility to design for the landscape. His influences include Prairie and California styles, and are represented by original,, function use of space. A Jim Kuiken design brings the outside in, and creates living spaces that you want to spend time in. The capacity in which I worked with Jim Kuiken Design has been as a colleague in the building industry and marketing/communications specialist. The cost of the project only refers to the projects that Jim Kuiken Design works on.

David Lund Design

July 21, 2014
When we hired David Lund to design our kitchen, new bathroom and new mudroom, we weren't sure what to expect. We had never undertaken such a large remodeling project before and we were overwhelmed with getting the layout exactly right and incorporating all the "little extras" we wanted in our dream kitchen. David took a pile of tear sheets that we'd saved, listened intently to our desires and concerns, and came back with plans that were so complete that even our contractor commented they were the best plans he'd ever worked with. What's more, David's suggestions for design picks completely changed the way we think about making choices for our home. He opened our eyes to options (hello, green penny tile!) that we would have never considered, and made us become better home decorators. He also retained the integrity of our nearly 100-year-old home by making countless choices that are consistent with its design period. When the project was complete it was not only exactly what we wanted, but was also filled with details we didn't know we wanted until he put them into place. We have a lot of envious friends.
