“In the realm of architecture, finding someone who not only designs a house but crafts a home tailored to your dreams is like discovering a hidden gem in a sea of stones. Matthew isn't just an architect; he's a dreamweaver, a magician who took the blueprint of our aspirations and transformed it into a tangible reality that exceeds every expectation. We purchased land near Pine Lake in Sammamish with permitted plans, but we found ourselves uninspired by the proposed house design. Despite numerous revisions, the essence of our vision was missing. Seeking guidance, we turned to Matthew, who quickly identified flaws and presented fresh design options. Entrusting him with the decision-making process, we were captivated by his vision, prompting us to halt construction and embark on a new journey to craft the home of our dreams alongside Matthew. Matthew's approach isn't just about drawing lines and angles; it's about understanding the soul of a space. He didn't just listen; he absorbed our dreams, our fears, and our aspirations, infusing them into every curve and corner of the design. His probing questions sparked conversations that delved deeper than architectural aesthetics, forging a connection that transcended mere client and architect. Throughout our collaboration, Matthew exuded professionalism like a beacon in the night. His guidance was not just about making decisions but about empowering us to make informed choices that resonated with our vision and budget. His transparent communication and unwavering support transformed what could have been a daunting process into a journey of discovery and joy. Matthew's design transcends the ordinary, weaving together elements of comfort, elegance, and warmth in a tapestry of architectural brilliance. The way he seamlessly integrated indoor and outdoor spaces, framing breathtaking views with each window, fills us with a sense of awe and gratitude every time we walk through the door. For anyone seeking not just a house but a home—a place where memories are made—I wholeheartedly recommend Matthew. His talent, his passion, and his unwavering commitment to excellence make him not just an architect but a trusted partner in the journey of turning dreams into reality. As we eagerly anticipate the commencement of construction, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Matthew for his invaluable contributions. We are truly fortunate to have had him by our side throughout this transformative process. Shweta and Shilen”

“After hearing countless horror stories about the remodel and construction process, I have to say that architect Jeff Babienko and his team at bARC have made the journey better than we could have ever imagined. His approach, vision, professionalism and attention to detail are nothing less than top notch. Babienko has a very thorough up-front exploration process that we thought a bit excessive, but discovered that it is this very process that allows him to steward the project with all the nuances of "feel", aesthetic and functionality that we were after with the remodel. While we forgot certain elements of what we wanted along the way, he and his team did not. It was amazing! The entire journey was a very collaborative, seamless and an entirely transparent process. His expertise as the interface with the construction team was invaluable and we can't imagine having done it any other way. We won't work with anyone else!”
Rhodes Architecture + Light

“My wife and I have a difficult lot to build a house on due to its irregular slope, steep in some areas. In order to have a view of Puget Sound the main floor had to be as high as possible. Before hiring Rhodes Architecture + Light we met with a few builders who do their own design work. They were unable to come up with an acceptable way to achieve the floor height we need. This drove us to look for an architect. We selected Tim Rhodes because we liked his portfolio of completed projects and after meeting him felt we could trust him to do the job. Tim came up with a very clever design that incorporated all our requirements. We've been living in the house 14 months and are quite pleased. Tim's design gets many compliments from first time visitors. The only reason I didn't give Rhodes Architecture + Light five stars is cost estimation and control. Our construction cost ended up 40% above my desired target. To be fair this is common when building a house.”
Patricia Brennan Architects

“We have worked with Patricia Brennan Architects on 4 different projects of varying scale - from a kitchen/bathroom remodel to the transformation of a 4-story derelict warehouse into an AIA award winning building of artist live/work spaces. Each experience has left us with a deep appreciation for the work she does and how she does it. Patricia listens closely - she listens to the physical space of the project and she listens to the desires and needs of her clients. She engages in a collaborative dialogue at the outset of a project and continues the dialogue until the project is complete. She has an amazing sense of color, a wide range of knowledge about all kinds of materials (from lighting to flooring and everything in between) and she provides recommendations for high quality professionals and reliable contractors. She’s attentive to detail, to budget, to practical problem solving and to the aesthetics, flow and functionality of a space. Each project we’ve done with Patricia has exceeded our hopes and left us with living spaces we love to be in. We feel fortunate we were able to work with Patricia for the first time 22 years ago – after that initial experience we knew whenever we embarked upon another project she would be the only person we would call. Her work has added to our lives immeasurably.”

“Professional, friendly, skilled, clever -- that's how I would describe the experience of working with Prentiss Architects. In any design project, problems come up, but it is how the problems are solved that is telling. We walked away happy. We are proud of and are still in love with our house in the San Juan Islands, 10 years later.”
