I believe architecture should be functional, efficient and beautiful to experience every day. Especially in my NYC projects, I think it's critical to consider ways to maximize space and storage and reduce clutter. I find joy in creating cozy nooks and celebrating the in-between spaces as much as a grand parlor. I look for opportunities to increase natural light and fresh air as these help connect buildings to nature and neighborhood. I strive to reduce operational costs by employing energy efficient systems and durable materials. My preferred aesthetic is bright and clean, featuring natural materials and a Scandinavian inspired warmth. Whether a new building or a historic restoration, I believe in mining the existing context (the house, site, landscape) for inspiration, character and design direction. We believe that great design is defined by a space that is functional to live in, efficient to operate, and beautiful to experience everyday. Great design is achieved by understanding what you have to work with - the raw space, the systems and materials, and the vision of the client - and employing intelligent techniques to optimize the space within those parameters and budget.

Crosskey Architects LLC is an twenty plus person, award winning design practice experienced in both large and small projects, new construction and renovation projects ranging up to $150,000,000 in cost. The firm is known for quick response and careful attention to all projects. This attention to detail may be discerned from a client list whose breadth is far greater with respect to the amount of repeat business received, rather than overall volume of clients served. While we are deeply committed to the art of architecture, we also understand the technical complexity of the buildings we create. Quite often, the viability of a project hinges not only on construction expertise and a down-to-earth approach to building systems, but also the ability to work with local municipal officials to successfully negotiate on the owners behalf. We attribute much of our success and continued growth to an ability to listen, communicate well, and perform with consistency.
