Claude designed our beautiful cottage and directed us to our builder Bill Benson. The two of them worked collaboratively to create the retreat we had been hoping for. We first started discussing our project with Claude in the fall of 2007, indicating we wanted to be able to start building in 2009, and our timeline was met perfectly. We have no complaints or concerns whatsoever. Some changes were required during the build, due to unforeseen obstacles during the excavation, and communication between Claude, our builder, and ourselves allowed this to occur seamlessly. We are thrilled with the outcome.

SM-Arc designed our home 10+ years ago. It was a very complex project and they were heavily involved in all aspects of the build. From contractor selection, engineering, material selection, budget constraints and interior design elements. They have designed for us a breathtaking home. Since the initial project we have collaborated on several interior elements as well as a large addition. SM-Arc has integrated this addition into our home seamlessly. I have found them to be very experienced, and knowledgable with a keen design aesthetic Thank you Tom and "crew"

Secter Design is a great firm to work with. Their designs are always beautiful and forward-thinking. Their concept for our new kitchen gave new life to our home and we would definitely use them again.

Design-bult is currently helping us remodel our newly purchased home. Our home was completely gutted and we also remove a major supporting wall to allow for an open concept. The old and out-dated bay window in the front of the house is now a 2 storey bump-out that has floor to ceiling glass. They charge an hourly rate for both design and labour. The entire team is skilled, hard working, young, creative and extremely easy to work with. They use quality materials and keep spaces clean and simple but with smart storage solutions. The use of windows, wood, white and other materials such as concrete, white corian and tile are being used in our project and the combination is going to be dynamite. Our project should be featured on their website in the near future. Can't wait to see the final product.

This Review is written by a customer who is building a lake home in Tennessee. I made a substantial order from Jack Gao of New Home Stone after sending multiple emails back and forth. In fact, I suspect we have had well over 50 emails back and forth as Jack looked for stones that were appropriate for my needs and made sure he was going to provide exactly what I wished for. My wife wanted to have a concept of "outside inside" with natural woods and stones in the house, and some how we got the idea (after seeing a photo on the internet) that we should have a large stone made into a bath tub. Then I suppose we got a little carried away. Here is what we ordered: 1) a huge stone bath tub made out of granite that looks as though it was carved out of a single large river stone (in fact, it was!), 2) 2 bath sinks carved out of similar granite stones. 3) a large pedestal and sink for our powder room. 3) 2 large sandstone sinks for a bathroom and 4) a green onyx sink for another bathroom. Most of the sinks were carved according to our specific dimensions. The total price was around $10,000 including shipping and customs fees. In terms of costs, if you search the internet extensively as I did you can get all of these items from sites other than from China, but be prepared to pay well over $20,000 (and perhaps over $30,000) for the tub alone. So as for costs, Jack is as competitive as can be. You are getting a tremendous bang for your buck. Also, he is TOTALLY HONEST. When we first started emailing back and forth I was pretty nervous - for all I knew, I was emailing and wiring money to a bogus website in Bulgaria! And I had a surprising and unexpected shipping charge that was unbeknownst to both of us prior to delivery, but because my price totals were to be all inclusive of delivery and customs fees, Jack has offered to refund me for those costs or to put the amount towards a further order. And this from an individual half a world away??!! Wow! I can't say enough about how honest the people at New Home Stone are. What exactly did I get? I wish I could send you finished photos at this time, but my items are still crated. Still, I have peeked inside, and the final results are nothing short of spectacular. I mean, imagine a bath tub carved out of solid granite where the inside is polished smooth and the outside is natural and rough. And all the measurements are to my exact specifications. The sinks are similarly beautiful. I can not recommend Jack Gao and New Home Stone any higher than 5 stars. I wish I could have punched in 10 stars! I feel so strongly about this that I intend to amend this Review after the products have been installed with pictures of the final results. I have, however, attached a photo of the tub as it was being completed. BOTTOM LINE: THESE PEOPLE ARE TOTALLY HONEST AND PROFESSIONAL. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, TAKE A LEAP OF FAITH, AND LET YOUR IMAGINATION RUN WILD. DESIGN SOMETHING UNIQUE, ORDER IT WITH CONFIDENCE, AND ENJOY THE RESULTS. THEY ARE THE BEST!! This is an UPDATE WRITTEN February 3, 2017. Yes, it has taken 3 years to build this house. I have added some photos of completed areas. There have been a few snags along the way, but I attribute that to the fact that I believe I was Jack's first American customer and him getting more familiar with his products on the American scene. All in all, I think you would agree that the end products are stunning. As my 34 year-old son-in-law says, the tub is "STUPID." We thought it would get very cold right away, but it surprisingly holds the heat reasonably well. And when it cools, we just add a bit of hot water. If you order from Jack, remind him of two things: 1) The EXACT diameter of your drain hole. It is different in China. And, 2) to be very mindful that the drain hole is fully at the bottom of the item. One of our special rock sinks has a bit of pooling to the side. No big deal given the overall stunning effect visually of the bowl. Finally, unless you will be putting a stone tub on a slab, check with an engineer to see if your floor will hold it. I had to reinforce my floor (the tub is on the second story) with steel beams. I will try to add a photo showing the beams. Hope you enjoy the pictures, and let me give another 5 STAR shout out to Jack!

Paul has provided us drawings for two projects at the lake 1 - a two level main cottage (1700+ sq ft footprint) 2 - a garage with second floor guest quarters What we enjoyed about working with Paul was his ability to listen to our conceptualized ideas (we have been planning a cottage build project for nearly 20 years) and transform them into physical drawings. Getting to the final drawings was a process, one that we enjoyed because no sooner did we talk about an idea/change we would receive an updated draft. Paul was patient with us and we always walked away encouraged by our interaction and his response. We start the construction on the garage and guest quarters next week and look forward to providing images for Paul's portfolio.

I've used Belinda Albo on several occasions and absolutely love her. She did work for us at our home in Toronto as well as providing us with complete design service on a building project in Muskoka. She is extremely talented, trust worthy and has a great sense of humor. We have become friends over the years and I wouldn't consider doing a project in Ontario without her help.

I hired Sterling Architecture to design my property and provide construction/renovation services. Sterling Architecture provided me with complete set of design drawings and specifications, received city permit and completed construction of garage and renovation of interior of the house. We are highly satisfied of the professional levels of the designers and good workmanship. I recommend this company to those who wants to have his/her property renovation/construction project done with no problems for reasonable price.
