“I interviewed several firms before choosing Alair to handle the gutting, expansion and rebuilding of our kitchen, as well as the remodeling of several bathrooms. We were very please with our choice. Alair’s pre-construction and costing process made sure there were no surprises. They were happy to answer any questions and make sure we were all clear about the project. Our project manager, Dan, always responded quickly to any concerns, apprised us immediately of problems, and made sure all work was completed to our satisfaction. We continued to lived in the home during construction, and Dan made sure that the worksite was kept clean and that there was minimal disruption to our daily lives. We were particularly impressed by Alair’s subcontractors, who were not only professional and courteous, but showed up as scheduled, no small feat in this busy construction market. The project was completed in the expected timeframe, which is almost unheard of. While there might be less expensive ways to get large renovations done, if you want high quality work done on time, I highly recommend Alair.”

“In 1997 Houghland Architecture Inc. contracted with us for the siting, design and construction management of our house in Williamsburg, Virginia. The site location, a ravine 200' off the street with wetland considerations was a challenge. The siting was creatively solved. During the building process Mr. Houghland proved to be very attentive in directing the contractor and subcontractors to stay within the boundaries of the building specifications. There were no overruns or design changing glitches. The result was a charming contemporary house in a charming setting.”
