Dan Weaver of 361 Architecture designed an amazing remodel for our mid-century style Mill Valley home. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Dan on the project. He was extremely sensitive to our needs and concerns regarding design, process, timing and budget. He worked seamlessly with our contractor. The entire process went very smoothly and we were absolutely thrilled with the results. – Renée Harcourt

The staff at Ohashi Design Studio helped me design my kitchen/living space. I wanted to open up our galley kitchen to be able to see our incredible view from the kitchen. They came up with a design I never imagined could work so well. Rather than just remove a wall, they moved the kitchen, changed it to a more functional shape and not only opened up the view, but made the living space feel like we were outside. I have been especially impressed with their level of service. They listened to my dreams and goals and turned it into a reality beyond what I'd hoped for. They were available anytime I needed guidance during construction and made sure the project was built down to the finest details. They helped me find a contractor and oversaw the bidding process. They helped pick out all the materials and finishes, even the paint color. I can't say enough about their level of expertise and professionalism. I worked with Dave and Alan.

Consistently refreshing creative architectural designs. William is a unique architect that understands deeply how to create highly functional buildings that are both efficient and gorgeous. Great work and extremely professional. Highly recommend.
Klopf Architecture
Architects, Architecture Firms, & Building Designers in Novato
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsFebruary 23, 2014
My HOA hired Klopf Architecture to design new fences, front gates, lighting and paint color plans for our condominiums. They were designed in 1963 by Quincy and Jones and built in 1964 by Eichler Homes. Replacements in the 1990s did not serve the mid-century aesthetic well -- but owners did not want to return to the light-inhibiting original thin-line panel fences and gates. The Klopf team produced three outstanding options. The one we selected includes brilliant design features like frosted glass doors with 1/4-in spaces between fence boards to allow light in along with clear glass doors for the pool area with 1/2-in spaces between boards surrounding it. The overall design and color plan is clean and elegant. John Klopf and his team could not have been more friendly and flexible throughout. We look forward to implementing this design over the next few years.

My kitchen now looks beautiful and new again, I hired HomeTech to remodeled my kitchen counter tops and my faucet, they were very helpful and got the work done professionally and fast, they even replaced a piece of wood that the pipe with a leak got very wet and humid. The communication with them was very fast and convenient. I am a very curios person so I asked several questions and they were very open to answered them all. Very satisfied and happy with my new kitchen.

Some of the many things I appreciate about David Marlatt, my architect on a large and fairly complex home project: He is imaginative, personable, calm, prompt, works extremely well with contractors and vendors, delivers designs / changes promptly. Not only an excellent sense of design architecturally, but also for interiors, fixtures, etc. Thorough practical knowledge base and expertise in dealing with the multitude of City / regulatory issues. Everything - design, budgets, timing, etc - is thought through carefully, and from many angles. Thoroughly receptive to client preferences, but will also be directive when needed. As his client, I'm am never in doubt that my interests are his highest priority. Plans and designs are created, stored and presented electronically - in 3D renderings as well as floor plans. Easy for those of us who are 3D-challenged to follow. In my view, outstanding in all areas. I can confidently recommend David without reservation.
Gregory Dedona Architect

Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsJuly 9, 2013
I'm the fortunate and proud owner of two custom homes designed by Greg Dedona. One is in Mill Valley, Marin County (1999, remodel) and the other is in McCloud, Siskiyou County (2013, tear-down & full new construction). Greg's mastery of design, materials and construction processes created two stunning, unique, buildable and affordable homes. His ability to creatively merge our family's goals, an evolving joint vision for the houses and the highly different administrative processes of these two sharply contrasting counties was something I believe very few (if any?) other architects could achieve. From the most rural contractor resources in Siskiyou to the most experienced and high-end pros in Marin, Greg demonstrated an ability to forge loose and disparate bands of craftsmen into a cohesive team. His leadership was respected by everyone involved - strikingly unusual in the often friction-plagued relationships one sees between contractor and architect. Perhaps most creatively, our McCloud home made great use of owner-procured (i.e., salvaged!) locally sourced, recycled materials - 100 yr old wood floors, replaned structural doug fir for interior trim, refurbished Wedgewood kitchen stoves etc.. In sharp contrast to architects who often scorn such an approach, Greg was invaluable in his advice on how to make these materials work. He helped us source many of them through his amazing array of contacts not just in Marin, but from Tahoe to the Oregon border. Highest possible rating...were there a lifetime achievement award for residential architecture in California, Greg Dedona has already earned it.

We used John Lum Architecture for the complete remodel of ~1000 sq ft in San Francisco. John and team were fantastic to work with. Very creative yet good at listening to our thoughts and integrating our ideas. They understand how to both design a gorgeous contemporary space while still keeping it comfortable and livable. We depended on them with a lot of design detail recommendations such as fixtures, paint, tiles and they always had great suggestions that made the process much simpler and easy to manage. They are very professional, extremely responsive and timely. There were no surprises during the entire process including on deadlines and budgets. I would strongly recommend them.

We engaged Architect Guy Lubroth to help us remodel our apartment in San Francisco. He was very professional and thorough in his review of what could be done architecturally. Guy was also very helpful in presenting several alternatives to us. Our remodel is now complete and it is as perfect as we could have wanted. Thanks to Guy's help the HOA approvals went thru easily and the entire experience was good. We can highly recommend Guy Lubroth to anyone considering building or remodeling. Sincerely, Noel Pinto
Impluvium Architecture

Average rating: 4 out of 5 starsAugust 20, 2015
Impluvium listened to my spiritual desires to create a contemporary space that made guests feel instantly welcome while providing function for everyday life. I described a desire that my home subliminally feel like a space where East meets West. Many visitors comment on how "happy", comfortable, and Zen like my home is. Mission accomplished thanks to Tim Haley! The project involved an extensive remodel of my 3 bedroom/2 bath townhouse inclusive of footprint expansions (addition of ~75 sq. ft.), relocation of all plumbing and electrical, removal of demising wall, new windows, doors and skylights, and creative solutions designed to maximize space. In particular, Impluvium not only designed an aesthetically beautiful ceiling in the great room, but it also provides layers of light for multiple uses at all times of the day and night, functionally it is a chase which delivers the in-home sound system and HVAC system, and it masks the new structural beam required when the demising wall was removed. The accuracy and completeness of Impluvium's design and architectural drawings were instrumental in expediting HOA approvals and permits.
