We have been extremely lucky to have used 360 Design Studio as our architecture consulting firm for our addition (1100 SQ FT) and major remodel. Bahi is not only very knowledgeable in her trade, she is also very creative, honest, professional, personable, attentive, resourceful and a very good listener. 360 Design Studio (Bahi) has been great and I highly recommend her. We originally choose to have her design an addition/remodel almost a decade ago, but an illness threw a wrench in the plans before we went very far. Many years later we then had the time to pursue our project, but since we had an abundance of time we decided to create our own plans instead of using her architectural services. We consulted along the way with Bahi and found her advice to be timely and enlightening. So many questions come up in the process that left us googling and scratching our heads for answers -- we couldn't have done this without her.

We hired Mariela in 2017 to fully remodel our house in Belmont and we were very happy we did so. Working with her was a great experience because she is a very responsible professional, detailed oriented, always on top of everything, committed to her word and work. Her honesty, her incredible will power and her excellent disposition to successfully solve all the challenges we encountered along the process made her our gem of an architect. I am a perfectionist, opinionated and someone with a strong and very define taste regarding interior design and style which makes me a “tough” client to deal with. Mariela found the way not only to work harmoniously with me but also to make me enjoy the stressful remodeling process along the way! I was so happy to find out she is a perfectionist like I am, which was a huge plus, because we were 2 pairs of eyes watching out for great final details and a high-quality end result…. (I think our contractor went nuts having to take care of so many details but it was worth it since the house is amazing!) This remodeling was a big project since we redesigned and rebuilt the whole house except for the foundation and the roof. It was a 1955 house which was in very bad shape, didn’t comply to any of the new safety codes, had asbestos in the ceiling, a few outlets, the plumbing system would clog every 2 months, etc, etc, etc… So, we had to redo the plumbing system including our portion of the sewer line, lighting, all interior walls, all windows and we converted the garage into a playroom for our kids. Basically, the old layout was gone and the interior space was completely redesigned and rebuilt according to new codes and regulations. Mariela worked alongside us even before the first phase of the process (schematic design) started helping us define and decide lots of uncertainties we had. Also, the schematic design phase was a long and complex process since we explored all options of the spectrum from demolition and building a fully new 2 stories house vs keeping the original 1 story house and only changing the interior design. Mariela was very helpful helping us navigate this process, which involved requesting quotes, evaluating them, interviewing contractors and deciding which was the best option considering our budget, time frame and vision of our future new house. She was always willing to meet with the contractor and providers to solve several issues that arouse along the process. Team work and problem solving are her key assets to address and solve challenges. If you are a perfectionist who value quality, neatness, organization, orientation to details and you are on the look of a responsible, committed, honest, hardworking professional, then Mariela is the one you are looking for! We met with Mariela after purchasing our house in Belmont. The house was in desperate need of TLC and Mariela helped us achieve our shared vision and transformed our place in the house we have envisioned when we acquired the property. The house had two floors, but the downstairs level was open and not used by the previous owners. Mariela converted the existing crawlspace into a master bath, closet, utility space and storage, freeing up livable space for my son’s bedroom with an adjacent bathroom, as well the family’s home office. Mariela was very creative and resourceful at finding the most efficient solutions, given all the constraints and our limited budget. Mariela also dealt with planning and building departments with the city of Belmont, and visited the job site regularly. Her problem solving skills and calm approach reassured us during the entire process! Mariela helped us achieve our dreams over and over. I hired Bahi to consult with me on two projects. I am a young architect and was working on my own house with a larger scope than I had experience with in past jobs. She worked with me as a mentor and a friend and helped me with a major remodel design (doubling the square footage and adding a second floor) on a difficult site (large heritage oak tree, multi-angled house, multi-angled lot). With her guidance I was able to get planning approval in spite of neighbor objections. Although my husband and I decided to sell our house and buy a new house instead of moving forward with the approved plans we are grateful to Bahi and her advice throughout the design process. She has continued to help us with a few issues that have come up with our new house interior remodel. She is kind, professional, and hard working. As an architect myself, I know that it takes more than a skilled eye to design beautiful buildings. We worked with several other architects and design professionals prior to hiring 360 design studio for our most recent remodel. 360 design studio was the best, by far. Bahi is creative, cooperative and very mindful of her clients' budgets. Most importantly, she is honest and resourceful. She always offers the positives and negatives of every design solution; before we set our hearts on a specific design, she made sure we knew how it would impact other aspects of the project and the cost implications. She is also very knowledgeable and knows the local building codes very well. Bahi turned our dark and crowded basement into a spacious and comfortable living area while staying within our budget. The location of every element had carefully been chosen and all the furniture that I had in mind fit perfectly throughout the rooms. Bahi stayed with us till the end of the project, and throughout construction she was always accessible to answer questions or to address unexpected issues. As questions or problems would come up, I always consulted with her. She has always been supportive both emotionally and professionally. Bahi was the architect for our new home in Los Altos. My wife and I had a few remodeling ideas. Bahi came on board and connected the ideas and painted the big picture for us and we choose to rebuild most of the house. We are very happy with how it has shaped up and are glad we did it in one shot. Bahi presented us with multiple design concepts. She iterated with us to converge on the details. At the same time she suggested a few things that we had not thought about e.g, she convinced us to add a covered porch on the backyard which we now love! Her drawings and plans are very detailed and extremely well documented. So much so that my general contractor needed to meet her only once for questions. Bahi also helped us with other functions like structural engineer, Title 24 and most importantly city approvals. We were running against some tight timeline to get city approval and Bahi absorbed the extra workload and got our proposal submitted on time. We were able to start work as planned. Throughout the project she followed up on progress and was always available for any questions or other asks we had. We are very delighted to have worked with her and would be very happy to work with her again!
