We initially hired Javier to draw plans for our remodel in east Fort Lauderdale. He came recommended from a friend whose family had used his firm in the past. After working with Javier and his partner Mike over several months, we were pleased with the plans they drew up for what was expected to be a complicated project, given that our home is older (built in the 60s), required a lot of work (new pool, new dock, structural changes, new roof, plus an addition), and had several other challenging aspects. Plans were drawn quickly and thoughtfully and within a reasonable budget, including a rendering for the exterior remodel. As we moved to select a builder, we interviewed a few other contractors, but ultimately felt most comfortable moving forward with Javier for a multitude of reasons: he was the architect, he has experience remodeling older homes, he came recommended by someone we trust, his proposal was priced reasonably, etc. Fast forward about a year and we are finally settled into our home – which, by the way, several people have mistaken for a new construction as opposed to a remodel. We now trust Javier like a family member or close friend, and can unequivocally say that he goes above and beyond to complete his projects to meet or exceed expectations, consistently does the right thing with integrity, and is easy to work with. Any remodel or project will be rife with curve balls and unforeseen challenges – we were happy to navigate the process with people like Javier and Mike, and cannot recommend them more to someone looking for architectural or GC expertise.
