Over the last four years we have completed 2 major projects with Abode (both were seven figures). The first one was a complete remodel of a mid-century home with an unobstructed view of Puget Sound. The project was completed on time and on budget and the quality of the work was excellent. The second project was a 4,200 sq. ft. new construction in the North Beach neighborhood of Seattle. it was completed and sold in mid July 2020. Again, it was completed on time and on budget and the quality of the work was superb. The home sold in 16 days for full price. Tony and his team did an amazing job building my backyard cottage. The craftsmanship and materials were top notch as was the overall experience. We also came in at the projected budget. Because of the positive experience I had with the cottage construction I've asked them to do a small project on the main house as well. Highly recommend!

Adobe is excellent. Very thoughtful and precise and has been able to work within their initial estimate/budget. We are thrilled with their work.

This is a skilled and reliable outfit. Communication was great when completing our projects. We have utilized their services on several occasions for home improvement projects (indoor and outdoor) and satisfied with the results. Our hope is to continue on with the relationship when we have the opportunity to enlist their services for another home improvement project.

My builder sub-contracted out to JML Design after they realized that my design vision was outside the expertise of their in-house designer. To be honest I avoided using an architect in the first place because of my impression that they are very expensive. My design criteria focused significant attention on site orientation to maximize available light, passive solar heating and cooling, aesthetics and compatibility with SIPS framing so it's no wonder that after reviewing literally hundreds of house plans I could not find the "perfect" plan (The exercise was great at nailing down what I wanted, though). Once Jean-Marc at JML Design was brought in he came to my property and we discussed everything I wanted. He was very excited to work on my project which was a welcomed relief as most construction professionals I encounter don't seem that excited and simply too busy. He also surprised me with his level of communication which up to this point I had never experienced. Suffice to say within a week he had a plan drafted up for me and it was love at first sight. Perfect. I don't know if it was just luck or if he's really that talented but I'm fortunate that he nailed it on the first try which saved me money since I was paying him by the hour. After going through so many plans and studying a bit of design and architecture myself so I could "speak the language" I wanted to be much more involved that the typical client. JM didn't seem to mind at all and welcomed my input and modifications to the house and site plans. I really appreciated this. I read online that architects typically charge tens of thousands of dollars for a design but I paid much, much less. It was more than I would have paid if I had purchased a stock plan off the internet but I'm not complaining because the plan is perfect for the site and the method of construction I intend to use. I found a house plan that I loved but it had a very complicated roof line that would have been a challenge to waterproof and very expensive. I also am able to minimize or eliminate rooms I don't need so the cost savings built into the plan is far greater than the design fee. In conclusion, I did not intend to use an architect but I ended up with one anyways and it was the best thing that could have happened. Jean-Marc LeRoy is extremely talented and a great value. I highly recommend JML Design.

Excellent job - I very highly recommend JML Design. Jean-Marc carefully considered the style of the house, our tastes, and our active lifestyle in developing the architectural design to model our kitchen/living area space and connect it with our side patio. He consistently maintained excellent communication and went the extra mile to facilitate the building process with our contractor.

I hired JML Design to design a backyard cottage. This had been a dream of mine for some time and I met Jean-Marc LeRoy in passing and when I learned he was an architect, I mentioned my vision to have a back yard cottage built, but was in no hurry to start. What I really appreciated was that a few months later, he circled around to check in to see what my progress was and if I was still interested in having this done. As a busy business owner with 100's of things jockeying for my attention, I really needed this follow up. After checking out his website that showed some of his previous projects, I saw that his aesthetic was what I was looking for. We met for a consultation, a site preview and then a proposal was presented. This was my first time working with an architect, but I found his breakdown to be thorough and very reasonable. Another thing that I really appreciated about Jean-Marc is his ability to listen. He was able to take my ideas and turn it into something more than I imagined, adding things that represented my style and ideas. Jean-Marc has magnificent talent as well as connection to resources and experts in the field. I would recommend him to my closest friends and feel confident that he would deliver his best.
