Specializing in Sustainable Designs

I am an architect, designer, and urban planner in Carmel, California. As a student at the University of Notre Dame, I studied classical design and traditional urbanism in Rome, Italy and have traveled to Argentina, Barbados, New Zealand, and throughout Europe. After starting my career in South Bend, Indiana; then moving to Scottsdale, Arizona; my wife Laura and I were lucky to discover our “inevitable place” in Carmel-by-the-Sea and pursue our shared passion for the arts and sustainability. As a legacy LEED Accredited Professional (since 2006) I have made sustainable design an integral part of my work. My experience has included golf and community clubhouses, offices, and luxury homes. As a Senior Project Manager for Troon Golf, I specialized in hospitality design and development for exclusive private clubs and resorts around the world. In 2011, I became a founding member of Sustainable Carmel, a local action group created to inspire, create, and guide sustainable thinking and conscious action. As an appointed member of the Mayor's green building committee, and a Monterey County planning advisory group, I helped to introduce a City ordinance to foster sustainable construction and have provided recommendations on new development projects.
