We contacted Arcadea for our new home in Boulder County after researching a number of local firms. From our first meeting until the completion of our project, David and the team at Arcadea were incredibly professional and responsive to our design input. As a licensed architect myself and some one who has spent more than 30 years in the construction industry, I appreciated Arcadea being responsive to our budget and schedule considerations without sacrificing the design aesthetic we were hoping to achieve. In the end, we are very pleased with our new home - both the look and the way it functions. We surpassed our design expectations; met our budget objectives; and, as a bonus, we were able to achieve a high degree of energy efficiency without paying a substantial premium (compared to typical a typical custom home).

David Biek, at Arcadea, designed out family home 17+ years ago in Boulder, Colorado. We had interviewed a couple of architects and chose him and clearly made the right choice. David’s attention to detail, and strength in listening to the clients wants and needs are exceptional. Arcadea Architecture designed our house. It wouldn't be fair to Arcadea to just call it our dream house; it's far better than anything we could have dreamed without their help. Their design was practical, affordable, thoughtful and beautiful. Wonderful team headed by principal David Biek. my wife and i checked out 4 other local architects and went with David because of his experience and great cost analysis. we were thinking of going with a design/build firm but David was able to coordinate for a great contractor at a better design/build price than any other option. very thorough review meetings and extremely accessible. work product was excellent and many options were shown to us. Arcadea made us feel in control of costs and still get an excellent product. they coordinated the engineering, surveying, permit timeliness and applications among other things. all deadlines were met.

I am very happy with Arcadea. Not only do they provide exceptional service, David Biek and Matthew Schexnyder have really gone above and beyond helping with zoning, contractors, etc. It's safe to say there are parts of this project that would not have been possible without them.

I've worked with David Biek and his team on a home remodel project. They were thoughtful and creative in the effort. I really liked the 3D Models they provided early on. Those helped me understand what the remodeled space would be like when the project is complete. They were also quite experienced and helpful in guiding me through the Boulder planning department and local Subcontractors.

We recently hired Arcadea for a major remodel of our home and we couldn’t be happier with how the project turned out. This was our first experience working with an architect and we didn’t know what to expect or what exactly we wanted. David and his team listened intently as we explained our general ideas and then they were able to transform our thoughts into architectural plans that exceeded our imagination. Arcadea was able to evaluate all of the code requirements and get the plans quickly approved by the city and they even analyzed the bids we received from contractors. We chose to work with Arcadea after interviewing a few first rate Boulder architecture firms because Arcadea showed a propensity to listen to, collaborate with and guide us as clients. They embraced a cost conscious design process and did not perceive our finite budget as an impediment to achieving the best results. Our project was a gut renovation and addition to a mid‐century modern house which Arcadea successfully transformed from a banal shed to a dynamic open flowing space. The addition melds seamlessly with the existing house on both the interior and exterior, the result is at once contemporary and true to its period. We were in process of relocating to Boulder from out of state during design/construction and Arcadea helped us bridge the long distance working relationship very smoothly. Working with David Biek and his team was a pleasure through all project phases, and he willingly adjusted his level of service based on our needs; when we were out of state he served as our agent and took care of all ancillary tasks including meeting extensively with our neighbors to obtain their approval for a variance, and guiding us through the contractor selection process. When we were on site in Boulder, David adjusted his contract administration services as we requested. Working with David to plan my home building project tassisted me in selecting excellent design options, selecting the contractors to do the work and providing contractors with meticulous design / execution plans. We purchased an architecturally stunning home in a dramatic foothills location last year. Built in 1995, the property has a lengthy history of starts to build a garage, yet still no garage. The most recent attempt was a very vanilla carport design, the only structure that seemed easy to get permission to build. We engaged Arcadea Architecture to design a 3-car garage-workshop that would complement and appear seamless with our home. In a short time, they recommended a process, referred us to a local attorney to streamline our building permit acquisition, and completed the first-round design of a garage that matches our home beautifully. This year we will take the next step in our process - to acquire a permit and start the project. We have not been an easy client for Arcadea because of our start-and-stop activity, and we look forward to completing this beautiful and practical building with their support. They have never wavered despite our slowness!

David from Arcadea handled all aspects of designing our mountain home located in Big Sky, Montana. Following a site visit David designed the home and it's location to most effectively take in the distant mountain views and the towering rock formations adjacent to the house. Arcadea designed a beautiful, modern home for us in the mountains of Boulder. We have lived in it for ten years and are still very happy with the functional and aesthetically pleasing design. We love living in it! Arcadea also helped oversee the construction process to make sure the contractor was building the house properly. This oversight was very helpful.

I requested David Biek's help in designing a house that would be built in the hills in southwestern New Mexico. He listened carefully to the fact that we wanted a small house that would fit the historic look of this area. I am happy to say that we love our mountain Territorial "casita" and the beautiful architectural elements he incorporated into the design. He and his associates were a joy to work with; very precise and organized. He was patient with the many questions we had throughout the process. He really listens. We hired Arcadea Architecture for two house additions/remodels. The first in 1997 and the second in 2009. Our first remodel was a 300 sq. ft. sunroom addition while the second was a 1500 sq. ft. pop up addition. During our first addition, David provided excellent design options that fit with our ideas and desires. He understood our committment to have an energy effecient home and developed plans to create our lovely sunroom that provides the home passive solar heat. When it came time for our second, much larger home remodel project, we met with several architects who advertised eco-freindly, green building design. Of all the architecture firms we met with, we found that David had the best understanding about how to make our home carbon neutral. He provided us with plans that included ideas regarding window size and placements, optimizing roofing for solar energy collection, and roof overhang sizing for shading in the summer. David spent numerous hours meeting with us, carefully revising his plans . In the end, he successfully developed a building design that incorporated energy efficiency and contemporary style.

David Biek from Arcadea has worked on two projects for us. The first project was restoring a beautiful multi million dollar 4 story grey stone in Chicago. The building was a classic old building in disrepair. David's design work brought the building infastructure into the 21st. century yet he maintained the old world charm. Thanks to the remodel, the building is renting for top dollar. The second project David did for us was some remodleing at our home in Boulder. After the 2013 floods, we had some serious repairs to make on our bottom floor. David redesigned the worst, ugliest bathroom in our home and made it wonderful.The bottom floor has never looked better. You can trust David. He's careful, fair priced, thoughtful, imaginative, and always has good follow through.
