Ron and Ike have designed and built two homes for us on Lake Keowee. You will not find a more attentive and creative design/build firm. Ron has a great talent for planning a home based on your ideas, fitting it perfectly on the lot and then designing an exterior that is an instant classic. His designs are truly timeless.

After looking at probably 30+ houses on Lake Keowee, we decided to purchase a lot and build, and after talking to multiple builders, we decided to go with Arcon – and have been extremely satisfied and happy with them. We hadn’t built a house in 30 years, so we were a little apprehensive about the experience – but Arcon made it as stress-free as possible for us. Arcon has been great to work with because with them you have both the architect and builder combined into one entity. Ron is an extremely talented architect and was able to position and design the house with the best view possible on the lot and accommodate a number of changes we made to the house design – even as It was being built – making it truly custom. He is also very creative and helped us work through potential changes and how they would look. Ike, the site manager during the build, was always available to answer questions and even answer if what we wanted changed could be done. Ike is also very creative and helped us think through a number of choices we had to make as the house was being finished. They had great relationships with the subs/suppliers and worked directly with them to help take care of any questions or issues we had. Both Ron and Ike listen carefully and closely to what you want as their customer – then works with you to ensure you’re satisfied with the result. Even after the house was built, they were very responsive to the punch list and any other questions we had. Plus they were really a lot of fun to work with. We would highly recommend Arcon to build your house - so on a scale of 1 to 10, we’d give them an 11!

I had the privilege of working with Ron personally to produce professional images of his work. Arcon homes have such a signature style they really stand out. I love the use of rock and exposed beams in the interiors , so many textures and angles in every scene. The outdoor living spaces keep the elegant theme but are practical too. Before I had the chance to work with Ron I was already a fan of how he was blending incredible pools and hot tubs into the home in such a unique way. Ron is loved by his clients and they just glow talking about their new homes.

Prior to meeting with Ron Welch of ARCON Architects & Builders, we met with several other highly recommended builders in the area. We toured some of their homes and were impressed with their work. We were confident each of those we interviewed could skillfully build whatever we asked, yet we felt as if something was missing. We desired some back and forth; a creative process of sorts. We needed someone who would do more than build the plan, someone who could help with the evolution of our ideas. When we finally met Ron we toured a home he had designed and built. We realized that Ron Welch was exactly the person we were looking for. It was at that point that we began to understand the value of an outstanding architect who is also a skilled builder. Ron understood our needs, and creatively designed a home that was magically sited on our lot. We are convinced that his vast knowledge of both architecture and construction saved us from making costly errors in design, placement, materials and product selection. Throughout the project Ron worked with his team to incorporate creative custom touches while at the same time he was always mindful of costs. Ron was passionate and personally invested in every last detail of the design and build of our home. His creativity, attention to detail, organization and integrity are beyond amazing. We've heard it said that there is no perfect house, but Ron designed and built the perfect house for us. We would enthusiastically recommend Ron and his outstanding ARCON team.

We have worked with Arcon with the lighting layouts of the homes he builds for many years. His customers are ALWAYS happy with the way things are handled and the final product. Ron's work is far above wonderful. It is always a pleasure to meet with his customers and work on the lighting layouts.

Ron was my contractor to design and build out a large basement project in my lakehouse. Ron did an amazing job, and all the fights you normally have with a builder with them trying to squeeze more money out of you never happened. He was always more than fair when it came to any change orders. Additionally, the workmanship was excellent. His design work was also excellent as he created a very nice floorplan with all the rooms I desired to have in the basement. I wish he had built the house to begin with! And all this occurred with me not being present. I live out of state and had to do all this by phone! Just goes to show how good and trustworthy Ron is. I would highly recommend him for any job.

Designed and built my beautiful home on Lake Keowee SC. The home was completed on time and within budgeted and quoted estimates. The construction in South Carolina was complete while I lived in Michigan and most of the project management was done via weekly phone conversations (with photo's) and monthly site visits. His honesty and integrity is beyond reproach. I'm been living full time in the home for more then 8 yrs now and the home is still near perfect inside and out. His after construction service support has been great. Twice over the 8 yrs I had to call him to do some major repairs caused by severe weather, he was on the job the next day and the repairs were perfect. He runs a full service business and you get just that.

We contracted with ARCON to renovate a level of a home that was purchased on Lake Keowee. ARCON's renovations were a part of the purchase process. He was extremely sensitive to our building objectives. Ron went above and beyond our expectations in supporting a need for an 11th hour design submission. Before we had a signed contract with ARCON, owner Ron Welch put in late hours to meet our lenders very tight timeline of a design and cost estimate. ARCON isn't just about Ron, our experience with the entire ARCON team was fantastic. We've owned the home for more than a year now, and remain exceptionally pleased with the craftsmanship and design. We have every intent on building from the ground up on our lake property in the future, i.e. dream home. We will turn to Ron and the ARCON team to repeat their excellent work.

We worked with ARCON on two separate projects. One a small apartment for our in-laws and a second, larger project, a guest quarters on our property. We had a budget that they strictly adhered to and they worked tirelessly to help us with every decision that impacted the final cost. In both cases the projects came in under budget.

After an extensive search and interview process we hired Arcon to design and build our dream lake house on Lake Keowee. We have built before and had pretty bad expereinces so were nervous if not skeptical going in. Our expereince was excellent and we could not have been more pleased. Ron and Ike are uber talented, creative, and most important ethical and trustworthy. We finished on time, below budget and love the finished product! Many years later, they continue to be availble and more than willing to help with any questions or needs we might have.

Ron was the Project Manager for the construction of our residence and we subsequently later engaged the services of his company for a project to finish out the basement. We could not be more pleased. I have a background in interior design, am very picky, and always want something a little different. Ron really delivered a great result. He is very creative at solving the occasional problems, comprehends my ideas very quickly, and is very conscientious concerning the bottom line. The end result for us was a lovely wine cellar, along with an additional bedroom which he connected seamlessly with an existing bath, as well as a spacious walk-in pantry, an attractive area for silver and china storage, a workshop, and a study. We are enjoying this home every day. If I have a question, or need direction to a service (painter, plumber, HVAC specialist), he is always available and points us in the right direction.
