“Richard and Michael are fantastic to work with. They are very creative and highly professional. Our project is a complete gut job renovation of a 140 year old row house in Brooklyn. NC2 has come at it with complete enthusiasm from day one, and have stayed positive and focused even when we have hit rough patches. “This past year, I hired Jonathan Wolfe to design a partial kitchen renovation in my 1929 Westchester County, NY home. About 19 years ago, I completely gutted and renovated the kitchen using high-end custom cabinets, keeping the existing footprint. At that time, I did not have the foresight (or budget) to expand the kitchen. Almost 20 years later, with both children in college, I wanted to finally create that open feel that I had been wanting; creating a more inviting place to eat, cook and entertain. The one caveat for this project, however, was that my husband really wanted to keep the custom light maple cabinets, even though I was worried that they reflected a dated 1990’s look. What Jonathan did was he designed a way to connect the old with the new, creating a stunning new open kitchen and dining room. He designed the new archway that opened from kitchen to dining room to mirror the archways throughout the house. Then he designed a peninsula that connected the two rooms, keeping the traditional 1929 feel of the house, but making it more clean-line and open. While this was considered a “smallish” project, it was not an easy one – working on an almost 100 year home and making everything seemed as it all worked together was Jonathan’s absolute special magic. After we changed all the hardware (from brass to polished chrome), put in new lighting, added some new appliances, changed fixtures, etc, the new space and the cabinets work beautifully. We would definitely hire Jonathan Wolfe again for our next project, he is a real pro.”

“I consider Diversified a design team, as well as a top sub-contractor, who not only identify the right construction solutions but understand a project from an architectural, engineering, and interior design perspective. I have employed Diversified to provide me with all three services, architectural plans, engineering work (including obtaining obtaining permits) and subcontracting work. Diversified does a good job in holding the subcontractors accountable that work is done well and on time. They ensure subs work in concert with one another so there are relatively few lapses in work as compared to other firms. I have not been stuck with a punch list that takes months to address. They address issues and problems right away. My level of satisfaction is so high, I have hired Diversified to work on two different houses. The first time I have ever hired a contractor more than once. The work on my first home was so well done and had such a positive impact on our curb appeal, the house was sold in 3 days! I employed them the second time when I needed a firm who could move quickly in making my fixer upper move in ready (they even helped me out in the aftermath or Super storm Sandy). While the work may be a tad more expensive, it was worth the extra investment to make sure the end product was well done. I absolutely recommend Diversified.”

“We hired Delson or Sherman to remodel our loft in the West Village and I strongly recommend them. I was nervous about hiring them because I didn't have a friend's recommendation. Instead I had read a New York Times story about them and studied the photos on their website. I loved their taste and, being a reporter, I really cross-questioned their references. We liked both partners, Jeff Sherman and Perla Delson, and both worked on our initial design. They came up with several layouts and the one we chose works perfectly for us. We wound up working mostly with Jeff Sherman during construction and found him to be very easy to work with as well as professional, time efficient and good at on-the-spot problem solving. He also has a good sense of humor. I'm incredibly indecisive and it worked when he gave us three choices. If I couldn't decide I let him pick and that turned out well. Our co-op board had given us a five-month deadline for noisy work and there was going to be an alarming penalty of $300 a day if we exceeded that. We finished on time and within budget (after the things I added). I trusted Jeff's recommendation for a contractor and actually hired the contractor without meeting him, a serious leap of faith that also turned out remarkably well. The Delson or Sherman office system seemed very efficient. A very endearing draftsperson, Chisato, helped to lower the cost. Everything got filed on time and within the co-op's requirements (unlike some of the other projects I have since witnessed in our building). That's it. We are extremely happy with the way it turned out. Remarkably, there's not anything we would change and I would definitely hire them again. I wish I could add more pictures!”
