About Us

Besch Design Ltd. works very closely with each and every client in order to assure that the desires and dreams of the clients are met. We do not prescribe to any one style or belief but rather we treat each project as a new beginning that is specific to that client’s vision as well as the environment in which it is developed. Whether it is a 100 unit mixed use building, a small home addition or interior renovation, each of these projects are started with a blank canvas. Our office atmosphere is set up in a very collaborative way so that everyone involved on a project can interject there ideas and thoughts as they apply to the specific project. From the overall concept in the beginning of the project, to the finite details that are developed for the construction documents, we are all part of the team. Our projects are known for their design integrity and their functional value. We are consistently evaluating, and redefining our approach in an effort to keep pace with the ever changing world of design. Besch Design, Ltd. has completed a variety of projects, ranging in scope from interior renovations to multi-unit mixed use developments. Besch Design, Ltd. has projects throughout the Chicago land area in Illinois, as well as in the states of Florida, Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa, California, as well as Belize, Central America.

When it came time for us to renovate our outdated dysfunctional kitchen we didn't know where to begin. Besch Design was recommended to us by a friend so we gave Steve a call. He came over and after the initial meeting with him and his wife Susan we knew we wanted to work with them. He took our vision and turned our kitchen into a space we love to cook, entertain, and be together as a family.

Steve Besch helped us with the design of our completely renovated kitchen and addtion of a mudroom. Our intention was just to renovate our kitchen. However, Steve had great ideas of how to completely redesign the space and include a much needed mudroom. His attention to detail and ability to clearly communicate his ideas sets him apart from his peers. He listened to what we wanted however made creative suggestions without being too pushy. Steve Besch of Besch Designs made himself available for consultation prior to the purchase of my home which was constructed in 1929. The home had had several renovations over the years that were disconnected and poorly thought out. He opened up the dark home and filled it with light. The gut rehab of the home revealed structural issues caused by the poor past renovation. Steve was able to identify and solve theses issues in rather unique and effective ways. He provided multiple options for each room and found the perfect fit for our lifestyle and design tastes. Though it required many changes throughout the process because of issues discovered during renovations and our evolving change in thought he never hesitated to provide new options. Steve worked closely with the General Contactor and was always available. He was very involved until the project was completed. His professionalism, attention to detail, quick response and pleasant disposition made the process of home renovation go smoothly that created our dream home. I highly recommend Besch Design.

He is great at working with village building codes and ordinances to ensure compliance. He works well with our builder and contractors to ensure our home is built to specification and resolve any challenges that arise during the building process.
