Black Dog Architects transformed our "Plain-Jane" house into an updated, functional home with loads of character. Working with them was great- a wonderful collaborate affair. We felt as though they truly understood our needs and were thoughtful regarding our design and budget!

I ave had the pleasure of working with Don @ Black Dog Architects Co., for two projects over the course of the past twelve years. the first was a major renovation of a house that included significant alterations and additions to an existing historical house (1804). Don helped with all the aspects of the work from working with the developing plans, working with the Historic Commission of the city, developing a relationship with the contractors, and helping us to understand the process and the needed revisions when they were called for. He was always available and helped to answer all of our questions. I have recommended him to many other friends, relatives, and neighbors because of my belief in the quality of his work and ability to relate to us through exciting and at times difficult transitions as we all figured things out together. His ethics in this type of work are above reproach.

Don was fantastic to work with. He paid close attention to the needs of our family and worked with us to design and build an addition that functions well and looks great. Don is easy going and fun to talk to, you understand that he is truly concerned with the project and that his goal is to deliver his best. He has a great understanding of the codes that are required to be followed and the project sailed through permitting. Don also has expert knowledge in materials and methods and presented several options, with price ranges, that allowed us to maintain a tight budget and high quality.
