Boomgaarden Architects designed our bungalow conversion, counseled through each step of the process, provided referrals- including our General Contractor (who we hired and was terrific), and checked in throughout the project - helping us stay on track and work through issues. Our bungalow conversion maintained the original building's authenticity thanks to Boomgaarden's design and vision, but we have this amazing, expanded and thoughtful new second floor designed exactly for our family's needs.

We used Boomgaarden Architects for a master bathroom remodel. We were living abroad while this work was being done. Chad Boomgaarden and his contractor were absolutely professional and so easy to work with. They were thorough, timely, accommodating and attentive to our needs. We were operating in a budget so they were very thoughtful and honest about the costs and kept within our budget. I trusted them completely. Most importantly, the work was to the highest standard. I would absolutely use them again and would absolutely recommend them for any size job. (Our job was just the bathroom, but their specialty is complete renovations - which we were going to do with them, but ended up being relocated so put the house on the market). Without reservation, I would recommend them.

Student - AEC & Design

Chad was fantastic to work with. We did a gut of a 100+ year old house and are ecstatic with the results. This was our first project; Chad walked us through each step with as much, or as little, hand-holding as we wanted. He reworked our space beautifully and was on-site during construction when surprises arose. It is a pretty intense process, and Chad was a delight to work with. I look forward to working with him on future projects.

We are very pleased with the design and the service that Chad provided throughout the construction of our first floor addition. He took the time to understand the needs of our family and the challenges that we were facing with the living space in our 100 year old home. His design transformed the layout to meet the needs of our family while still maintaining the original charm of the home. I hired Boomgaarden for two projects over the years: one was a ground up house, the other a whole house gut and renovation job. I must say, both turned out great. My passion and standards for architecture are high. I know what I like, but can't always tell someone so unless I see some sketch or vision. In other words, I don't have a lot of imagination, but know what I like. Chad was really helpful in getting me to understand the trade offs of various designs or the thousand and one decisions that must be made when building or fixing up a house. Anyone doing a project would be well advised to consider him an excellent candidate.

After a flood damaged the interior of our home completely we had to find an architect and a builder who would be willing to work with a large loss insurance claim. I found Chad's work on the Internet and felt he had just the right artistic sensibilities to help us recreate the interior of our 100 year old home. After meeting with him, we were convinced that not only did he have the architectural chops to get the job done but he also was both incredibly personable and professional. When the first builder we tried to work with proved unable to move our rebuild forward, Chad suggested the builder who ultimately completed our work in an equally impressive manner. I would highly recommend Chad without hesitation to anyone who is in need of an architect. His work ethic combines an old school professionalism with a fresh perspective that exactly hit the mark for us. Most importantly he is smart, ethical and knows his stuff!
