We worked with Dustin and Amanda for the several year project to design and build our custom home in Pacific City. They listened very carefully to our vision for our home and the resulting design couldn’t have been more perfect. They are extremely responsive to any questions, concerns or needed direction. A true pleasure to work with! We have been in our home for a little over two years and love it more now than we did the day we moved in. It is especially important when building on the coast to ensure your architects are experts in designing for the extreme weather conditions here. Dustin and Amanda definitely filled that need.

I hired Capri Architecture to design a house for me in Neskowin. I wanted a firm that was located on the coast and understood the challenges of that environment. Their eclectic portfolio attracted my attention. I liked the fact that they are a young couple passionate about architecture. Not only do they have experience with coastal design, they bring a vision to the project that makes it special. Working with Dustin and Amanda was great. They listened to my needs and desires for the house and were able to achieve a design that met those and beyond, incorporating elements I had never thought about. My budget, and the constraints of the property, made the project challenging. The resulting design packed a lot of character in a small space without seeming overdone. I especially appreciated their oversight during construction, and how well they worked with my builder to ensure the house turned out as I wanted. They were always available for consultation on any matter, big or small, and their technical knowledge helped overcome potential construction issues. I highly recommend them. I love working with Dustin and Amanda of Capri Architecture! They are great people and easy to work with. They listened to what I wanted and were willing to work to help me achieve my dream house, even if I wanted something a little different than what they designed. Dustin and Amanda were active in helping me find and interview builders. Their plans were very detailed and they helped me through the permit process. They also worked with my building contractor to firm up the plans and make changes to save me a few dollars. They are both easy to reach by telephone and Dustin was always right on top of things, getting bids, collecting information, etc., so that I could move forward with my future home. Here is how I started: I looked up reviews for architects in the local area as a preliminary step. They had many positive reviews. I also noted they designed projects for government entities, so I assumed they were fully vetted in that process. They are young and energetic. After meeting with them and looking at their designs, I could see that they would be enthusiastic about designing a modern-looking home. I also like that they provide oversight during the builder process, which helps me tremendously because I am out-of-state. Building started in September 2017. Very exciting!

We hired Capri Architecture to design and build our new home in Newport, Oregon. They were amazing to work with from day one and all the way through the project. They listened carefully to what we wanted in a home and then came up with a fabulous design that was created specifically for our lot and us. Every room took advantage of the view! As the project progressed they helped us with colors, materials, and gave us wonderful knowledgeable input as we picked things out. They oversaw the entire project, worked closely with the contractor, and were delightful to work with. We would highly recommend this husband and wife team for any project you are considering. We are pleased with our decision to work with Capri Architecture for our beach home project. We initially chose Capri as they had an outstanding reputation in the community and we wanted to work with a local, coastal architect. They worked with us to design our home to meet our desire for a universal design which will allow us to age in place. Our input on needs, desires, and wishes was acknowledged and incorporated into the overall home design. We worked together to refine the design to get the desired outcome. Their expertise and advice on the unique challenges and characteristics for coastal homes was greatly appreciated as we integrated design elements into the construction which will reduce maintenance and improve long term livability. Capri Architecture did an excellent job on our project working within the confines of the Nye Beach Historic Overlay District while also effectively handling the confines of a narrow 30 foot wide lot size. They assisted with the coordination of moving utilities and designing cantilevered areas to maximize space while optimizing ocean and neighborhood views. They also helped us with contractor recommendations and were very effective in resolving any issues that arose with the city permitting and review process. Since we also hired Capri Architecture to oversee site supervision of the build, we also reaped the benefit of having day to day oversight for our remote build. They saved us money by dealing with issues as they arose. We received frequent communication via text, phone, and email as appropriate. When we were in Newport, they would meet with us at their office and on the job site to ensure our needs were being met. When we were not in Newport, we received regular picture updates to show us the progress. Capri Architecture exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend them for anyone looking for an architectural firm who will work with you to design, develop, and effectively transform your project dream into your desired reality.

We have been working with Capri Architecture for approximately one year on a sizeable beachside home expansion project. The job has been complicated by lot size, setbacks, zoning constraints, and considerations of the environment & home design. Despite this, we were able to finish the design phase after enlisting the help of county planners and commissioners to resolve some of these issues. This was a lot of work and we would not have been successful without Dustin's and Amanda's knowledge of who to speak with & what procedurally we had to do. We now have a gorgeous design, sufficient buildable lot area, and we're ready to move forward with the project as soon as its feasible to obtain building permits. Dustin and Amanda have been at our side for the entire journey of this project. They have earned my respect for their professionalism, design skills, strong ability to innovate & anticipate potential issues, and their candor & friendship. Their fees are reasonable, and considering what you get - Capri Architecture is a bargain.
