About Us
I’ve wanted to be an architect since I was 11, and I achieved that goal in 1983. After working in the public and private sectors and as the staff architect for two large national corporations, in 2006 I set out on my own to focus on what I’d always wanted to do most: residential design.
As Winston Churchill observed, "We shape our buildings; thereafter, they shape us." As important as all forms of architecture are, I enjoy the scale and detailed attention required to help my Clients achieve the home (not just the house) they’ve always wanted.
The Client/Architect relationship should be one of collaboration, two-way communication, and mutual respect. Clients are always welcome to come to my office for AutoCAD design sessions where we develop the plans together. How many sentences have begun with, “What would happen if we...?” We give it a shot and either incorporate the change into the plan or back up. The Client can see the project take shape before their eyes, they understand much of the thought process behind each decision, and it saves a lot of time. But most importantly, the Client takes a very active role in the design process. For Clients who can’t come by my office, I've often worked with out-of-town (and even out-of-country) Clients by sending them scaled .pdf drawings. Then we can work out the details by phone or e-mail.
As a licensed architect, I can produce a full set of construction documents with every detail drawn out. However, most Clients prefer a "Builder's Set" of plans where I produce the plans required to get a building permit, with much of the detail work provided by the builder. This dramatically reduces the time I spend on such projects, with a related decrease in my design fee.
Where to Start? First, I ask questions. A LOT of questions. And then I listen carefully to understand exactly what the Client needs. Many of my questions are designed to help the Client think about things they may not have considered before. I strive to form fully collaborative relationships with each Client to produce the home they have envisioned.
I'd appreciate the opportunity to partner with you on your new home. Call us today!

Charles was recommended to me by a contractor. What a great recommendation. Charles listened to me about the small restaurant my wife and I are having built. From the very day he treated us like we were million dollar clients. He is very knowledgeable and professional and i'm glad to have had the pleasure of meeting him. I hope we stay in touch.

As a person, Charles is thoughtful, compassionate and reliable. I highly recommend Charles.

Our community longed for a coffee shop. I wanted to create a place for people to relax and recharge. Although I had a lifetime of DIY experience, I discovered a commercial setting had greater requirements, like an architect. A reputable builder referred me to Charles Hoshall and a burden became a blessing in disguise! My first delight was to be heard. Charles listed to my goals, hopes, lkes and dislikes. He made an effort to get to know me. In no time he had a design ready to preview. His prior experience in the commercial sector was a major contributor to the timely opening of my business. Charles was always available to answer questions and worked seamlessly with the other trades. He became one of my favorite discoveries on this journey!
Character. Competence. Class.

Everything about the experience was excellent. He was fast, well informed with the city for permitting and zoning regulations, and always kind. He communicated personally with my general contractor on my behalf for plan specifics and the city of Edmond on my behalf which kept everyone on the same page more effectively. I would recommend him to anyone and I will definitely use him again!

Mr. Hoshall has provided architectural services for my company for the last 5 years +. He has always been professional, prompt, and delivered what was needed. I have enjoyed a good working relationship with CB, and my clients have not had any issues that would keep me from working with him or referring him to other clients.
TaraCo LLC will continue to hire Mr. Hoshall for future projects.
