We are a general contracting firm and have worked with Savina Kyurkchieva of City Dot Studio on a number of complex tenant improvement projects. We have found her to be very knowledgeable and capable. She is detailed oriented, does high quality work and always responds quickly. Early on when we were considering expanding our home, we encountered many roadblocks relating to adding additional bedrooms to our home to accommodate for our growing family. Our major issue was that we only had a one car garage, and that the planning department would not allow us to add rooms to our home due to the lack of parking spaces. We had spoken to several prospective architects, hoping that they could provide us with guidance and confidence that they were going to be successful in navigating through the planning requirements. These architects were either stumped by the problem, or were giving us empty promises. Along came Savina - she researched our city's requirements, understood the intent of the codes, and clearly communicated with us several plans to address the city's rules. We were impressed with Savina's creativity and ambition! During the project, we had several discussions with Savina for her to understand our family dynamic, design taste, and budget. In every step of the way, Savina has provided several layouts and 3D models to convey her thoughts, and explained the advantages/disadvantages of each iteration. She encompassed a great combination of presenting her professional insight, yet incorporating our wants/needs into her designs. Whenever there were questions relating to code that came up, she was quick to engage the planning department to address our needs in a very timely manner. Throughout the project, Savina has served as an effective liaison between us, the city, title 24, and structural engineering, representing our interests. Savina had navigated through all of the construction details of producing the architectural drawings for submittal, and had headed up the responses from the plan check document from the city. After construction had begun, Savina went above and beyond what we had originally asked of her, and had even had provided us with valuable insight regarding lighting, furniture, kitchen countertops, backsplash, and even options for privacy. The completed design incorporated an Eckler style house with plenty of windows to provide lots of natural light, beautiful wooden accents on our 12' ceilings, and an open, airy floorplan that can serve multiple functions. All together, she has been extremely valuable resource to complete our home remodel. We highly recommend Savina!

We had planned a remodel to add new baths and make some changes to laundry, and started working out with a fairly rough idea. We got in touch with Savina and she had many wonderful ideas and checked in and listened to us through multiple iteration of design. She helped us promptly to prep the papers for permit and knowing the intricacies of extremely arcane SF DBI system and rules. All this while we were all adjusting to a new way of doing things and being completely remote during the pandemic. She is fun and easy to work with and has many wonderful ideas.

Citydot Studio has done impeccable work during our home's major remodel! Starting with the design phase, Savina made sure to understand our goals and give us design options with those goals in mind. She also had to work through creative solutions to problems that were sure to come with a 100 year old house. Savina was an immense help in taking the lead to navigate our plans through the city permitting process. We also tapped into her network of professionals to find the resources we needed for other aspects of the project. This whole process was daunting (to say the least) and Savina's kind, attentive, and thoughtful support was an immeasurable help.
