This firm produces some of the most comprehensive, detailed sets of plans I have ever worked off of. This saves everyone time and money! They have great knowledge of energy efficient design/construction techniques and are very easy to work with. I would recommend giving Clark and Chapin Architects a chance to show you their skills!

Matt did an excellent job designing our home! He created a beautiful set of house plans, and was very efficient with the use of space and kept our project within our budget.

We worked with Dustin Chapin from Clark & Chapin on the extensive remodel of our 1914 Seattle home. The project included lifting the house, relocating the interior stairs and a complete update of all interior spaces. Dustin was easy to work with, and stayed on schedule and budget throughout the project. In terms of the design, he did a masterful job blending the traditional look and feel of our home with more modern and unique elements. Beyond the design phase, our general contractor found him to be readily available if he had any questions about the drawings and design. Dustin continued to check in with us throughout the building phase to make sure the aesthetic of the house that we had worked together to design was taking shape. Dustin was a trusted partner and made what is generally a very stressful process easy for us to navigate. We would highly recommend Dustin and Clark & Chapin to friends and family.

My wife and I discovered Matthew Clark by accident when, hiring an architect to design a house and aircraft hangar for our piece of land in Southwestern Colorado, we took little notice of his young associate. That young associate turned out to be Matt and Matt turned out to be a superstar. Over a four year period we worked with Matt to design and build a home that we have lived in for the past seven years that is both aesthetically superb (even if we do say so ourselves) and very functional. It is an absolute pleasure working with Clark & Chapin. I am a general contractor and I assisted my clients during their design professional review process. We met with numerous architects, many of whom had great ideas, experience, or fit within the budget. That said, only Clark and Chapin were able to accomplish all three. Fast forward 2 months after breaking ground on our significant Seattle rebuild. The colloboration with Clark and Chapin is exceptional. The builder (me) and the clients are both ecstatic with the level of service they have received. As a builder one of my prinary frustrations with most projects is the lack of details in drawings and design decisions I have to make onsite/in the field because the architect and the structural engineer make many assumptions without fully understanding the structure. Dustin (one of the principals) spent enough time in the beginning to make sure Clark and Chapin had extremely accurate dimensions, provided updated drawings as the project progressed and ALWAYS answers the phone/emails or returns calls quickly thereafter.
