Our home, a Victorian two-flat grey stone, was built in 1901. After living there for many years, we decided we wanted to stay in the neighborhood but needed more livable space that could complement our lifestyle and raising children. We hired Constantine Vasilios, because we saw the amazing work he did with our neighbor’s home. He literally transformed our house into a magnificent, contemporary, yet classic home that reflected hints of its past, but at the same time, seamlessly ushered in the 21st century. It is a home that lends itself to casual or more formal entertaining, and best of all-Constantine incorporated the possessions we hold most dear. No matter where I travel, when I come home I am always delighted and in awe of this unique and beautiful home that Constantine and his team created for us. He remains a good friend who has continued to take interest in the house, and I’ve come to rely on his excellent taste and expertise over the years as our family needs change and develop.

They did an excellent job on my addition. It exceeded my expectation. The job was done to perfection and the best they always cleaned up and left the house in excellent condition. They also finished on time.

Worked with Constantine and his staff to completely gut-rehab and restore a 1901 2 flat Greystone on Historic Logan Blvd into a single family home. Did this following the Illinois Historic preservation society guidelines for rehabilitation and tax freeze program for national historical districts. House has been published in Midwest Home Chicago magazine, the food network/fine living network program Ultimate Kitchens, and was used to film scenes for the Muhammad Ali movie.

CDVA is excellent at working with clients to discover their needs and what is truly valued. Then they work closely with their clients to develop design solution(s) that meet these needs and stay within budgetary constraints. Specifically, for our project, they helped us see that we truly needed to expand the addition to a larger size as it would better suit the needs of our family 5-years in the future. At the same time, they helped guide us to spend less money on some exterior elements to help offset the additional costs related to the larger addition. In addition, they are very capable and flexible to respond to changes (either from field conditions, Local Building Authority concerns, or Owner directed) quickly and accurately, which helps to keep the project on budget and schedule.

We had a wonderful experience working with Constantine D. Vasilios & Associates for our addition to our home. They listened to us and designed the addition exactly how we dreamed it would be. It has become our favorite part of the house. In addition to the family room that was added, they designed a new garage (the "man cave") and deck. They worked great with our general contractor and all of the plans were well received by the village inspectors. We had no trouble passing inspections. We would definitely work with them again if the opportunity arises. Constantine is a pleasure to work with and has many creative ideas.

My wife and I own a 120 year old stucco home in Portage Park that needed a major upgrade to the first floor. We contacted two architects to design the project, both turned it down. Constantine Vasilios and Associates were happy to take on the challenge. They worked with us through the entire project. It was completed within our budget and it met our design goals. We later hired CVA to add on a kitchen extension. The results of this project were even better. If we decide to start another project, we will call Constantine Vasilios and Associates. Constantine is a world traveled architect and designer that has a huge library of imagery in his memory. Along with outstanding training he makes our job easy. We simply tell him what our vision is and he comes back with ideas that have a lasting impact. We asked him to look at hour existing house and we implemented his plans. We are enjoying the outcome.

CVA was selected after interviews with several other architects, maily because their proposal came the closest to what we wanted. Constantine's guidance and support throughout the project was exactly what we needed. In one case he found a subcontractor who was able to duplicate and existing stair case design at a cost that was a fraction of a stock design that would not have matched. In treading in waters that are foreign, unless building is world you have intimate knowledge of, the guidance made what could have been a costly disaster manageable. And the design work was great.

My first introduction to Constantine D. Vasilios was through a City of Chicago Historic Preservation Division that handles landmarks and historical structures. Our house was built in the 1920's, very unique with a clay tile roof and interior gutters. We had previously lived in a townhouse and this was our first single family home. We had been living in this house about 8 years when we notice water stains on the limestone exterior and it kept getting worse especially when it rained, and we were desperate to do something because every time it rained, there was water in a storage room in the basement. We had discussed our problem with a contractor that was doing work in the area, and he suggested to us that we needed a whole new gutter system. After agonizing over the issue, I contacted the city's Historic Preservation Division and spoke with one of the architects there who advised me not to let the contractor do anything to our roof. Instead, he instructed me to contact Constantine Vasilios, a preservationist architect, who would be able to help me sort out my roof/gutter problem. I contacted Constantine immediately and he came out, investigated the problem, and determined that there was possibly a simple solution to the problem of a leaking interior gutter. He referred me to a structural engineer and a plumbing contractor. The plumbing contractor was able to find and repair the small hole in the gutter connection to the downspout and stop the water from staining the limestone on the outside and from coming into the basement when it rained. The cost to repair the hole in the gutter/downspout was a fraction of what the contractor was proposing to charge us and what he was proposing was not going to work. We later hired Constantine Vasilios and Associates to prepare a design for a remodel/update of our master bathroom at our residence as well as acomplete remodel of two (2) apartments in a 3-flat building that we own in the Bronzeville area. In both projects, Constantine was very knowledgeable, attentive to detail, accessible, and responsive to any concerns that we had. He worked with our budget and made suggestions and recommendations that helped us achieve the desired final product.

I am a small real estate developer. I hired this firm to create interior design for a 3 unit apartment building that I converted to condos. The building was over 100 years old had very interesting once beautiful interior features. Constantine D. Vasilios & Associates were very respectful of our project. They created story board material finishes that kept in mind the original time period of the project while simultaneously appealing to our modern buyers. We sent our buyers to their offices to select their paint, granite, cabinetry etc. They really helped to create a very positive image of my company and did a spectacular job with the final product. I found them very professional, extremely creative and worked well within our budget. They also conducted themselves with excellent business integrity.

Constantine is a professional , artistic architect. We had a second floor addition put on our home. Constantine provided a design that emulated the rest of our home. It looks as if our addition has always existed. The interior of our addition is beautiful, with a vaulted skylight and is very open and spacious. Everything is handicap accessible. There is a deck on the front and back of the home. In addition to a second floor add on we also enlarged our existing kitchen on the first floor. The outcome of this room is much larger with vaulted ceilings and beautiful skylights. Constantine listens to what the home owner desires and needs. He works close with his client to accomplish this task. His ideas not only exceed your expectations but when the project is finished he should put his signature somewhere on the project; for it truly is a piece of art.

I worked with Constantine when I moved to Chicago and wanted to renovate a very unique home. Constantine had an eye for detail along with the "twist of lemon" that made the design something you wouldn't find elsewhere. He listened carefully to what I was wanting and worked to incorporate that into the final product. His ceilings are his specialty adding an added dimension most people don't think about.
