When the poorly built house addition we inherited started leaking and pulling away from the house, we realized a big change was needed, but we weren't sure what it would become. We worked with Donna to dream up what an addition that fit our needs would look like, how it would fit in the budget and the footprint we had available (limited by bulkhead, septic, property boundary), and worked iteratively on a design. Throughout, Donna was magnificent at teasing out info about our lifestyle, our expectations for a family den space, our desire for an attached music room given all the musicians in the family, and how we wanted to revamp the side entrance to allow for a mudroom. She created and patiently edited plans to meet our needs, and they easily passed muster with the zoning board, inspectors, and the builders themselves. We could not be happier with the end results, and would recommend Donna to anyone -- especially if you need that "Socratic dialogue" to figure out what you want.

We wondered if putting a 3-car garage and family room on our Cape would be possible without looking out of proportion, but Donna was able to carry through design elements from the original structure so that it blends beautifully. She was efficient and timely as we worked with her, thoroughly professional. We are so happy with our addition!

We worked with Donna to give our house a facelift last year. Although the house is large with great bones, it had zero curb appeal due to the original architect's dated personal preferences. Donna gave us three options for simple changes that dramatically changed the look of the house. The first jumped off the page, the builder was able to implement the plans very easily, and the house has a completely different look. We get compliments frequently from people who can't believe it is the same house. We highly recommend Donna and will definitely work with her again ourselves.

We highly recommend Donna. I was trying to do the layout for the addition and first floor remodel of our older home. I knew what the pieces were but I could not find a way to get them together. I was using a diy program, moving cabinets, walls, doors and could not find a way to make it work. We visited a friend that had just finished a remodel of her first floor kitchen/bath/bedroom and we decided to hire Donna based on that. Donna finds space everywhere. She was able to incorporate all of the pieces we needed/wanted in a way that we could have never come up with on our own. We are very happy that Donna worked on our project.

My wife and I are beyond pleased with our home, we love it more the longer we live here. Donna did the design work for a complete gutting and remodeling of our circa 1870's house and added a master suite addition. The flow and sight lines are so well thought out and we use every space that was created. Donna was prompt, professional, communicated well through the whole process. Donna worked with us on a huge remodel of our 1959 colonial to make it accessible and more functional for our family's needs, but also made it beautiful. I cannot say enough about Donna Kerr! We hired her based on a referral from a neighbor who used Donna's expertise for an addition. We were impressed with how the addition turned out so we used Donna for our project. Donna was amazingly thorough and very detailed. She listened closely to our wants and needs (and added her own ideas) and produced 3 different plans based on them. We loved them all...Donna creates amazing plans! It took us close to two years to be ready to move forward with our project and Donna quickly made any changes we needed and got the Construction Drawings to our Contractor. Our Contractor has been in touch with Donna a few times during the project and he has had all good things to say about her as well. She is responsive and so easy to work with. Our project (a master suite addition, involved kitchen/living renovation, and portico) is still in the works but it looks amazing so far. We have received alot of compliments already on how the addition really looks like it was always part of the house. It is stressful and scary to make the decision to add on/renovate your home but with Donna's amazing talent and expertise, our experience has been excellent. We are dying to see our finished project and can't wait to share the pictures with Donna when it is all done. It is truly amazing to see life come out of the plans that all started in Donna's hands!
