DAJ Design

DAJ Design provided architectural conceptual, detail and interior design services for our home. They also provided construction management services for the home's construction. When we entered into this process, friends and family warned us that the experience would be trying and expensive. We stepped into it with a lot of trepidation. We can honestly say that working with the DAJ was completely opposite expressed by all the doomsday prophets. They listened to our thoughts and helped us to identify features for the home design that we had not thought of before. They incorporated those ideas into so thoughtfully for us and the community around us. Another tremendous benefit we received from the DAJ team was the attention to interior detail--colors, tile, flooring, etc. They had a fine eye marrying all the components together into something that defines us and the way we live. The final product blended the character of the the community with our personal hopes and dreams. Overall, we couldn't be happier and give our highest recommendation to the firm and it's owner, Andy Johnson! From our perspective, everybody should use them as their architect.

We wanted to add a second floor to our 1949 home while preserving as much as possible of the existing structure. DAJ Design did the architectural design for our remodel and went far beyond what we expected from our architect. Andy was an advocate for us throughout the entire process from our search for a contractor to getting the proper permissions from the city, to picking and purchasing materials. He is a fantastic listener and very organized (even though we were disorganized). He did an excellent job of studying our example pictures, asking questions and listening to incorporate our style and requests into the design, which turned out better than we imagined. He and his team were present at the house throughout the project, visiting the site often to answer questions from the contractor and verify that the project was progressing according to plan. Andy and his team have a great professional demeanor. They were fun to work with and also made us feel very comfortable throughout the process. Their approach, organization and professionalism made this process a lot less stressful than it could have been. We highly recommend Andy Johnson and DAJ Design.

Andy is incredibly easy to work with. He is extremely knowlegeable about the myriad of options available to you to make your house what YOU want. He is respectful of deadlines and budgets. I was working with another architect prior to engaging Andy, and I can tell you the difference was night and day in terms of artistic suggestions and overview and budget. Andy's interface with the general contractor was invaluable.
