If you traveled the world and have marveled at the beauty of local architecture and have said to yourself - "Wow - I wish I could live in a place like that...", then, John Henry AIA is one of the very few elite professional architects out there who can design your home beautifully, proudly, and, most importantly, appropriately + acccurately. I know - I went through ALL of them, trying to find somebody with a base of historical appreciation/knowledge combined with a heavy dose of talent. Just as the previous client had a picture of a Venetian canal-front villa as their dream home, in our case, we wanted a Franco/Russian style chateau/"dvorets" - as I am of Russian descent and love the architecture of 16th century St. Petersburgh, Russia (which was highly influenced by the French). John didn't balk at our request - in fact - he is as passionate about history as he is about architecture- and thus, he zeroed in on elements of the period style which was precisely what we had in mind. We basically changed nothing from his first renderings - it was that good!! (his hand-drawn framed sketches hang in our library!) Our house is built, we now live in it , and we love it every day. There is NOTHING that we would change. His concept of space and volume is PERFECT. - even smaller rooms are GRAND with high ceilings and decorative architectural elements. Yes, we too, have a steady stream of photographs taken from land (and water!). My kids have gotten used to people stopping on the street to admire his work! Bravo, John Henry, Bravo!
