Clever, calming, and collaborative are words that come to mind when describing the E3 experience. Ernst and Eugene designed a house that addressed my need for flexible spaces and my wife's love for the simple elegance of Scandinavian design. In addition to his eye for details, Ernst greatest skill is his ability to listen and provide introspective feedback. It is easy to find an architect that will design a house to a clients every whim; it is harder to find an architect that can help you discover the boundaries of what to live within. The end result of our collaboration was a house design that did not feel overworked at all. If you didn't look for him you might not even notice Eugene working away in their lovely reclaimed church office space. Eugene is the yin to Ernst's yang. Although he is quiet and reserved when he does speak his words are filled with resources and insight. Simply put, he is the guy you call for help when you have nobody else to call. Finally, anyone that has ever been involved with an infill project will tell you how it can be a demanding and stressful time. Between choosing finishes, setting up budgets, or dealing with the odd neighbor there are always a bunch unforeseen complications. The one thing about E3 that I appreciated the most was how calm they were navigating through complicated zoning bylaws, dealing with hard to reach city officials, and discussing technical obstacles in layman's terms with us. With so much emphasis on timelines and juggling trades nowadays it was nice to know that with E3 everything is going to be ok. I highly recommend using E3 for your dream home.

My wife and I really enjoyed working with Ernst and the team at E3. Ernst is very talented and was able to find beautiful and practical options when faced with budget or building code constraints. Ernst also listened to our ideas and worked collaboratively with us. The result was a home that we all loved.

E3 came recommended from another client and our builder, and designed our custom home literally from the ground up. We had been having great difficulty finding a unique design to fit our needs on a ravine lot. In a short period of time, they came up with a plan that absolutely ticked all of our boxes in a contemporary design. Specifically we had wanted to maintain a connection with the ravine and the natural views it provided in as many spaces as possible, and the resulting design has been awesome. Ernst was always positive, available and responsive. He was great with meeting deadlines and in assisting us decisions that needed urgent last minute consideration. We hadn't initially thought about enlisting the help of an architectural firm but realistically, enlisting the services of E3 was the best decision we have made in the building process.

Tranquil--that is perhaps the best avenue by which I can describe our home that has been mindfully designed by Ernst Von Meijenfeldt, from E3 Architecture Inc. Our home is perfectly balanced and offers a tremendous hideaway, an ideal sanctuary at the end of a busy day. From our initial meetings with Ernst, right through to the final drawings, my wife and I feel that Ernst carefully listened to our needs--and delivered with uncompromising style. Ernst took the time to study the neighbourhood, ensuring the house both fit in and stood out--an interesting paradox in itself--and helped us to create a stunning modern interior that leaves our guests speechless. To say the least, we are very pleased with our home and would gladly recommend E3 Architecture Inc. to anyone who might be considering a project, be it commercial or residential. Ernst and his team are professionals that deliver exceptional design.

Ernst and Eugene have been fabulous and we are really excited to start building the house Ernst has designed.
