He took our thoughts and ideas, then created a set of house plans that were exactly what we were looking for. We were not confident that adding to our existing 30-year-old house would give us a home that was cohesive and integrated as if it were part of the original design. I started working with Chris over a year ago and came with an idea of what I wanted exterior to look like with my "must haves" for interiors. We had asked Chris to help us with a future build in Florida. We have worked with an architect once before and knew it was a cumbersome process. This one was much smoother. We gave Chris a couple of pictures of ideas and a sample floor plan we liked. He customized it and told us to take a look. Well, it didn’t look like we thought it would (because we really didn’t know how to describe what we wanted different). Chris patiently reviewed our comments and even a rough sketch that I drew for a master bath that was similar to the bathroom that we loved in our former house. Sent him a couple of pictures and even though the space is much different, he got it pretty close to the layout of our old one with a few bonus changes that we really liked. Since we will be in an AE area, I had a lot of confusion and uneasiness about how certain things had to be to submit to be engineered in the area for permits. I asked Chris to take a look at what I found about our elevation requirements and he deciphered those and met their requirements based on what they describe will satisfy local AHJ. On a side note, I have worked on houses that Elite has drawn for the last 20+ years wiring for low voltage and home technology. I could usually tell when one of my builders used his plans. They were consistent and Chris even asked for my input at times on custom plans with technology. Very satisfied with our drawings. Can’t wait to see virtual become reality. We were referred to Chris Turner with Elite Home Design October 2021. Living in Florida added to the complexity of our project and we flew up to Murfreesboro (via Nashville) to meet Chris and explain our wants and needs. He listened intently, took notes, began drawing ideas and 2 hours later we had confidence in his design and construction skills. With preliminaries in hand we were given an estimate by a builder, unfortunately the costs had increased from their first estimate by $80./sq ft and we had to put the project on hold. Chris indicated no problem, many of his clients were in the same boat. By January, we had selected another builder and while costs were similar, they were transparent with their building process. We reengaged Chris to get the final designs and he worked diligently to accommodate our needs, changes and requests. He has designed the home of our dreams! We plan to break ground in June, Thanks to Chris.

My husband and I had previously designed our home with another firm in 2019. After construction plans got derailed in 2020 due to the pandemic, we started to re-think our plans a bit and decided to get some fresh eyes on what we wanted. While we liked what we had to start, Chris greatly improved on what we wanted and created something much more streamlined, efficient and beautiful. I am not really sure where to start other than by saying Chris Turner was and is a God send. The level of skill, craftsmanship, knowledge, communication, compassion and understanding that he gave us was and is AMAZING!! He truly is one of the most remarkable and talented architects / designers around. First off, Chris gets such high ratings because he deserves them! I was trying to work with someone else in Murfreesboro per recommendation. After dealing with this person, I don't know how they stay in business. I stuck it out for 4 weeks hoping this person would do something. Nothing. I went online to find someone else and found Chris. I decided to reach out to him because of his ratings. Within in minutes, I got response and we quickly got to work. He was such a pleasure to work with. He was very understanding and patient. Our project wasn't you're run of the mill house plans. We needed in-law quarters and a business in addition to our household on a budget. He delivered! Our plans are perfect and beautiful! He payed attention and took notes while he listened he made notes on my drawings and when the time came, he asked really intelligent questions. He treated me like I wanted to be treated, like I expected from a professional. I am known for being tough on salespersons and vendors, it was my job. I know I'm not the average customer, I am pretty demanding and to satisfy me, you are going to have to do your job and do it well. Chris "NAILED IT".... I need to mention that Chris wasn't the first architect I ended up in front of, but I wish he had been. OK I must tell on myself, I really put Chris through his paces, I worked him pretty hard, you can only imagine how many revisions I put him through in the kitchen alone. As the owner of a company in the building materials market, I work with Building designers and Architects everyday. While there are many talented people in the field, we chose to specifically work with Chris. It wasn't an overly lengthy process. He asked a lot of questions about what we wanted and designed a stunning house befitting the forest setting we will be calling "home". In the Building design industry, it is difficult to find a one-stop-shop. Design firms are charging a lot of money but can't complete build-ready plans because they are not certified. Chris is a certified Professional Building Designer and completed all aspects of the house plan for the build at a reasonable price. I will definitely be referring more business his way.

Chris is exceptional at what he does. He took our ideas for our pool house and molded them into the most efficient plan imaginable. He advised us on things that would make it look better and other things that we hadn't thought of such as the way doors open in small rooms, etc. We even needed to make some last minute changes due to unexpected property setbacks and Chris modified the plans and went through the same process of recommending changes to make it look best. We would use Chris again, and we strongly encourage anyone else to do the same. He was awesome to work with.

Chris by far is the most detailed, hard working, & dedicated home designer or designer for that matter that I have ever met. He spent a tremendous amount of time and energy on our project and this is so evident in all the details within our plans. You can tell Chris really enjoys designing homes and he does so many extra things that go beyond dollars and cents. Chris plan designs truly embrace cutting edge technology and are able to bring mathematical drawings to reality. 1.) I would recommend that you come prepared with a good frame work for what you want your project to look like, as Chris will work very detailed and quickly to bring your project to life. 2.) Make sure the you collect pictures or other images to incorporate into your design, because that will allow him to see what you want to accomplish (carport deck and covered second floor porch he so perfectly designed). 3.) Give yourself some time to complete your project and dig deep into the details, so that Chris can help you with your vision (see staircase we took out of an old Victorian Home and restored (to code I may add) in our new home). All in all Chris does an excellent job with detailed complicated design issues, bring the style you are looking for holistically over your entire home, he is available seemingly at all times, he is working seemingly at all times (80hrs plus a week), and embraces technology like no home designer we have met. Chris Turner is both a techical problem solver and a creative artist. His ability to create custom floor plans affordably and always on-time is astonishing. I've worked with several other architects in and around Nashville and I consistently come back to work with him.
