After a disastrous experience with contractor on a kitchen renovation, we hired Emery Design Associates to come in and advise us on how we might proceed. It is never easy to enter into the middle of a project and even more difficult when the previous contractor's work is calamitous. I thought perhaps she might be able to help salvage the project from the existing damage. To my delight and surprise she not only rescued the project but she also completely transformed our kitchen pantry space! We are so impressed with Deborah's expertise in redesigning the existing kitchen into a much more stylish and pragmatic configuration as well as the professionalism and responsiveness of her terrific crew. I was a little nervous leaving for 3 weeks while the renovation took place but when we returned we were elated to walk into our beautiful renovated space. It is an immense pleasure to work with Deborah and I cannot recommend her more highly!

We hired Deborah to manage the complete gut-renovation of our NYC 3-bedroom, 4-bath, duplex Coop apartment, and then to decorate the apartment with new furniture and fixtures. Deborah handled every aspect of the project, including designing the layout of the newly-configured apartment, producing the architectural plans, obtaining Coop Board approval, NYC DOB permits and approval, hiring and supervising the contractors, selecting the materials, fixtures, appliances, central air system, audio-visual, and finishes. Deborah was terrific. She made sure she fully understood our tastes, preferences, and budget before beginning the project. She guided us through the selection of a team of contractors who fit our needs and shared Deborah’s approach – careful, responsive, can-do attitude, honest, trustworthy, and committed to quality and relationships with clients. She guided the project to completion on time and on budget. Deborah is a pleasure to work with. She is fun to be with, has a sense of humor, and understands what it takes to create a home in the 21st century. She has a careful eye and great sense of style, but was also extremely sensitive to find what reflects our own personal style and needs. We could not have been more pleased with all of the work she did for us, and we recommend her without reservation. She helped us create our home that we are thrilled to share with others. Lots of designers have good taste, and Deborah has that in spades, but she also has professionalism, patience and knowledge. Helping us redesign two rooms - a living room and a den - she had inspired ideas and also respected our preferences and budget, helping us to know when to splurge and when it wasn't worth it. She has great contacts and sources in the design field and, most important, handled all the details of two custom-made built-ins that were not easy to create and build but work beautifully and fit seamlessly in our Arts and Crafts home. Deborah is easy to work with and fun. I highly recommend her.
