Michael was great from the very beginning till the end of our project. Our project was just a small addition on the back of our house but he took the time to walk it with us several times and paid attention to details that I think other architects would have missed. He is very easy to work with and goes above and beyond. If we ever build a whole house he would be our first choice hands down. I have already recommended him to 3 other people including family members.

Michael and his team at Firmitas are practical artists. They created our dream house within our budget. Our demands and our lot dimensions made their job difficult, but, they listened and together we navigated the design phase quickly and easily. During construction we only had to ask for a couple of changes at minimal cost. We are nomads by nature and look forward to our next home designed by Firmitas. Thanks Michael.

Mike With Firmitas Design was everything you want to experience when designing your home. After coming off of a lackluster experience with another architect who was unable to deliver what we wanted, we truly questioned whether anyone would be able to listen to us and ALSO bring their creativity to the table. Mike was respectful, professional and such a pleasure to sit down and work with. We couldn't have been in better hands. He doesn't stay in any preconceived box when he's designing but will offer honest suggestions and opinions. We had pictures, our own ideas, and he STILL WAS ABLE TO COME THROUGH FOR US by designing a home that not only gave us all the important features we desired but he also gave us SO MUCH MORE! We have been in our home now for about 6 months and EVERY contractor, subcontractor, or outside professional in the home building industry compliments our home when they have been in it or see it from the curb. We certainly owe much of that to Mike and Firmitas Design.

I showed up to our first meeting with an illegible drawing of what I wanted in a large, contemporary house for a homeschooling family of 7 and Firmitas exceeded all my expectations at meeting our families unique needs for our family's home. They listened to everything I said and incorporated it into the perfect home.

Mike, Firmitas' owner, is one of the best residential architects in Dallas in my opinion. From conceptual design to final detailed plans, Mike and his team have shown professionalism, creativity, and problem solving experience while maintaining overall project objectives, schedule, and cost on track and on budget. I couldn't be more pleased with the final custom build from a design standpoint (which is a blend of traditional outside and contemporary inside) to the execution details. Mike and his team did a great job designing our new home! We brought little to the "design table" when we sat down for our first meeting with Firmitas Design. We knew the number of rooms we desired and how much money we intended to spend on the house. We knew that we liked the clean lines that appear in mid-century modern homes. Lastly, we had a few photos from magazines of features that "caught our eye". Within 5 minutes, Mike had a hand drawn sketch of a house style that he thought might be attractive to us. It was a great jumping off point and Mike and my wife were "off to the races"....Let's move this wall here......it needs a big kitchen island.....I want lots of windows overlooking the back patio.....etc....etc. Within an hour, the design was complete. Two weeks later, Firmitas Design turned the rough sketches into full CAD drawings. Two weeks after that, we had a complete set of home plans in our builder's hands. All of these "deliverables" were reasonably priced and provided to us in a timely manner. Most importantly, we got exactly what we were looking for in our custom built home. We highly recommend Firmitas Design to anyone that is interested in building the home of their dreams.

Mike was outstanding! He was able to take the descriptions of what we wanted and turn them into a wonderful floor plan. He suggested ideas for inclusion before we knew we needed them. If something wasn't going to be feasible, he showed us why and gave us even better options. He could produce a dimensional perspective that brought the rooms to life. Working with him was amazing and gave us our dream home!

Michael Adams of Firmitas Design developed the concept and architectural drawings of our primary residence approximately ten years ago. Mike was very attentive to our needs and desires. His input and knowledge was invaluable. Per our request the home had unique design features and multiple levels. In addition to our requests and desires, the property on which we intended to construct the home presented its own set of challenges and opportunities. Mike skillfully incorporated the attributes of the lot ultimately complementing the layout of the home. In 2013 we elected to add an addition to the primary residence. The addition was to include a dining hall and kitchen for entertaining, a wine cellar and room, several bedrooms, an entertainment room and a multiple car garage. Without any reservation we approached Mike with our idea. As with the existing residence Mike was extremely creative and innovative with the design. We are in the final stages on construction and we could not be more pleased. The addition which is connected to the main residence by no means appears to be an “add on”, but yet the addition can be isolated when needed to function as a standalone guest house. My fear is that our guest won’t want to leave after living and dining in the extended addition that Mike created. Mike’s design exceeded our expectation in every respect. In summary, Mike is an innovative and creative architect who happens to also be an individual that listens and strives to please his clients. The main residence and addition are our fifth and sixth home constructions and I can safely say that Firmitas Design was far superior to any of the previous design firms that we have used. I recommend Mike Adams and Firmitas Design without reservation.

This architectural team doesn't just draw pretty homes, they also understand the construction side of things to know that they can actually be built and be built well. 3. Firmitas genuinely considers a clients' budget and design needs. Again, hard to find in an architect. Over our 30+ years in business, we've worked with dozens of architects. Firmitas is definitely at the top of our list!
