We hired Laura to design a net-zero energy home for us to be built in Princeton, MA. We gave her a unique challenge - design an historic colonial home that fit in with similar style homes in Princeton, while also achieving net-zero energy. She accomplished that and more with a salt-box style home that looks like it was built in the 18th century, and has been net-zero for energy generation and use for the past 6 years. It is so efficient that it received the NESEA zero net energy building award in 2013, placing within the top 4 of 13 entries. Laura was great to work with, paying attention to all our wants and designing a unique floor plan that works so well. Others have complemented us on the design, including one couple who modeled their house after ours. It was a pleasure working with Laura and we are completely happy with our home. We would highly recommend Laura!

Fitch Architecture drew up very thorough plans for a 800+ sq ft addition to our small (900 sq ft) home. The design incorporated the latest trends, including 1st floor laundry and full bath. She consulted a structural expert to insure the garage was sound. The builder was impressed with the thoroughness of the drawings.

We had a great experience working with Aviva on our house plans. We came in with a very specific vision and they were happy to make it happen. Several times they brought up ideas that we had been considering as well (below garage space, root cellar) which showed how in sync they were with our process. They were super excited about our vision which made the project really enjoyable for everyone. I really liked that they gave us several options at a time for a particular floor plan or detail so we could compare them side by side. We felt that the pace worked for us (about 11 months) because it gave us enough time in between meetings to think through the choices. I chose them because of their green energy work as well. We were able to incorporate strong green energy ideals (south facing, compact shape, appropriate insulation and foundation mechanics) which made all of us happy. They gave us the option of hourly versus set price for the project which we appreciated. Lastly, we love that Aviva is as geeky as we are!

Laura was our architect when my wife and I built our new home in 2006. We had searched pretty hard to find an architect we could work with and we were very happy to have found Laura. She really was excellent. She has a wonderful way of using your ideas and combining them with her experience and professional training to end up with a design which is exactly what you wanted, only better. She was a joy to work with. We have lived in our house for 10 years now and we continue to appreciate Laura's design features. We love to show our house to new visitors and most importantly we just love living in it. We most highly recommend Laura.
